Default Eaton vs. Detroit locker

What do you think about a Eaton vs. Detroit locker in a car that is 95% track and 5% road? In a Strange 12 bolt.

IMO, go with the Detroit. Gears better than clutches. It will make a little noise when it unlocks.

SPOOL

if you really are ONLY 5% street, you shouldnt worry about it then

it is lighter than both a posi and a locker, and your BOTH of your wheels are always turning

An ARB uses air pressure to lock the diff. It is like a spool when locked. Only single wheel traction with no air pressure. I have one on my Toyota 4x4 and works wonderfully

I am going with a Eaton in my 7.5 The factory Auburn has had enough. The Eaton's are strong. Plus they have a year's warranty.

Hmm, ARB is an air locker? That sounds like it could be streetable when not locked. Anyone have some more info on these?

Yes, its an air-locker. Have to have a compressor (weighs about 3-4 lbs) It is activated with a flip of a switch.
