Default Track time w/ the 3.73's and tuning

It's certainly not a new best, but it was nice to at least make it to the track. The only local track that was open today was an 1/8-mile strip, Redline Raceway east of Dallas. The DA was right at 1,100', so I wasn't looking for a new best. My 12.35 @ 108 MPH was run with a DA hovering at -500', FYI. My best 1/8-mile pass that day was 7.835 @ 87.08 MPH with a 1.689 60'. I was just wanting to see what kind of 60' times I would net with the 3.73's.
After sitting in the staging lanes forever, I finally get to make a pass. I do my burnout and pull up to the line. I pre-stage, stall it up to 1,300 RPM, and wait for the lights to drop. I nail it on the 3rd yellow, and the car spins really bad! I watch the tach for my shift points, and both of them are right on target at 6,200 RPM. I pick up my timeslip, and it looks like this:

RT: .5329
60': 1.7325
330': 5.0349
1/8: 7.8509
MPH: 86.78

The 60' was a solid .1+ off of what it should've been, but I was still pleased to see the car run a 7.85 in worse weather with a lousy 60' time. I pull back around to the lanes and wait again for another pass.
I dropped my ET Streets 2 psi and repeated the procedure. This time I'm up against a 5.0L hatchback that's running N2O. I do my burnout and roll forward some. I do a dryhop, and the tires spin. I knew it wasn't going to be a sticky launch. I pull to the line and wait for the Mustang to finish his burnout. I pre-stage and just sit. He finally pulls to the line and pre-stages. I stall the car up to 2,200 RPM this time in hopes of netting a better 60' and stage fully. Needless to say, it didn't help any. Meanwhile, my opponent must've been insecure about running me because he had to get the jump with a .3911 redlight. It was a damn good race!

ME
RT: .5217
60': 1.7471
330': 5.0749
1/8: 7.9163
MPH: 85.99

HIM
RT: .3911
60': 1.8320
330': 5.1442
1/8: 7.9131
MPH: 88.86

I forgot to flip my fans on while sitting on the line, so I ran hotter than when I made the 1st pass. So, that's why I figure the MPH was down a little. Notice how he really starts charging the 2nd 1/2 of the track. I had him by .07 at the 330' mark, but he ran dead-even with me by the time we crossed the traps.
After that pass, I decided to pack it up and go home. I knew that I wasn't going to see what the car had in it since I couldn't get anywhere near the 60' time that it had the potential to run. Low 1.6 60' times are EASILY there with full traction, and I expect to see some high 1.5 60' times at a good track with some nice air. I hope to run the 1/4 next weekend.

It's always fun to have a good close race, even if it wasn't a new best.

Good job Trevor.

I would usually see a 1 mph drop in 1/8mile trap speed and a 1.5-2 mph increase in 1/4 mile trap speed when I swapped 3.73s in place of 3.23s. Since you ran nearly the same ET and mph in worse weather leads me to believe you have some solid gains. Let's see what she'll do in good air (especially in the 1/4).

Nice job Trevor! I hope you run in in the 1/4mile next week as well. As Patrick said, running the same times in worse air, you defintely picked up.

I hate when that happens. Lately at RCR, I have been having the same problem. No traction whatsoever. Good luck.

That's not what I want to hear! RCR is the track I'm looking to make a trip to this month. It's always given me great results in the past, so I can just hope that it will do the same for the next trip.
Patrick - That's good information to have! It certainly makes sense considering that I'd shift into 3rd just as I crossed the 1/8-mile light with the 3.23's. Whether I'm at Eunice or RCR, I hope to get some 1/4-mile results on the 8th or the 15th of this month.
Ragtop - LOL!

Ever since I put this converter in, I am having major problems with traction. I finally cut a 1.6x a couple of weeks ago (I made the first run of the night).
I think if you go on the weekend like you did in the past, they might actually prep the track.
