Default 800+ Whp 2004 CTS-V. Help me make it hook! (Video inside)

So, to make a long story short, I have buttoned up all the major weak links drivetrain wise on this car. However, after watching these videos and driving the car I realize I am getting ZERO weight transfer and the car simply WILL NOT come out of the hole no matter my launch technique. With barely any power applied it starts to spin the tires before it goes anywhere. Once I pedal it, the run is basically pointless.

My best 60' to date is a 1.71 and the car went 10.69 @ 138mph on that pass. Typically it does low 1.8s which is embarrassing. Obviously there is a lot left on the table, but being new to RWD suspension setups I need help.

Tires on the car are 275/45/18 M&H Drag Radial, which should be adequate to run better 60s for now. Smaller wheels and tire change are not up for discussion in this thread as I want to make what I have here work better (this is THE BEST combo I can get right now with 6-lug wheels). My focus right this moment is on suspension issues.

Let me know what you guys think, I'm all ears.

Tell us what you have done suspension wise. You either need some adjustable shocks, or you need to have them adjusted correctly. Plain and simple. Also, if you have a front sway bar on that car... you shouldn't. lol

The car has full coilovers w/ adjustable shocks. What I have found is that the rear springs are 5-550lbs. I swapped them back to the stockers last night which are in the 400lb range but kept the adj shocks in place. The ride height actually dropped 3/4".

Front sway bar IS in place. Ive heard a lot of back and forth about whether it'll help to unhook it

What settings do you have on the shocks? Have you tried making any adjustments with it at the track as far as those go?

You made the right move with the springs so far. It doesn't take long for sway bar to be taken off. I would take off sway bar and see what it does.

I have dabbled with the settings on the shocks but with a manual car I chalked it up to being inconsistency from the drivers seat causing my issues. Now I think there is more to it.

I removed the front sway bar and I think am seeing improvement. However trying to launch on this dirty, junk road doesnt tell the whole story :/

Unhooking the front sway bar will allow the front suspension to travel which in turn will help with weight transfer. I would definitely recommend doing it because it should help both your 60ft times and ETs.
