Default went to track today, got the number i wanted finally!

Well, for all whos been and still following, i took it to the track today. First run ever off the trailer... i mean literally first run ever down the track in my life i got the car to go 12.91 @ 82 mph. Spun a whole lot mid 2nd gear so had to let out. Second run was 12.18 @ 92.93 mph, same issues. Turned out i had 27 psi in my radial pros, lol. Took them down to 22 psi and turned the boost down to 5psi eliminate tire spin and softened the rear shocks up and, was able to clicked off a 10.85 @ 127.16 with a 1.67 60'. Next i tightened up the front end to help with the lift and same tire pressure but bumped up the and turned the boost up a little more to around 8psi, that netted me a 10.24 @ 127.16 with a 1.66 60'. Last run of the day i loosened the front up by a 5 clicks and lowered the psi to 18 psi, left off the trans brake at 3 psi and rolled to a 9.90 @ 139.76 with a 1.53 60'!! Needless to say i am BEYOND happy with how the car turned out and after only 5 passses i got my 9 sec slip.... especially for NEVER being down a track ever, lol. Thanks everyone for the advise and help!! Im sure the car has more in it but im happy with a number before winter!

Wow! That's awesome for your first trip to the track and on your 5th pass ever. Gosh, now you have to come up with a new goal already!

So given the mph and shifting it into 2nd on the launch, what do you think the car has in it? I'm shooting for a solid 9.50-9.60 car.

Yea well get back out and try to get the car to leave better and not short shift it, lol. Annoying thing is its now the end of the season and sure that was the last nice weekend we had to test. Now I'm stuck and have to wait till spring so I have to live with all the "what if's" all winter. Whaa-whaaaaaaa...

Great to see you get down on something with 4 wheels and all on the ground at the same time!

Don't you have a Cheetah shifter.
They slide pretty easy from first to second.

Yea I do, I wasn't ready for it to launch the way it did. I have to keep it in my head next time or keep it held over to the side so it's locked from going into 2nd.

Congrats, 12.9 to 9.9 in 5 passes.

Get that 60 into the 1.3's and you'l be in the mid 9's should be easy just some trial and error.

How is NLR these days?

It was perfect when I was there but they prepped the living hell out of it for the monster event the day before so it was still awesome the day after. From here on out I don't know. Would like to get a few more passes in but what track will hold at 55 degs?

NLR has been pretty rough and still needs quite a bit of work. However, I did see some improvement in how things were run this year, the track prep improved greatly towards the end of the year and I have been told from a decently reliable source that tech is going to begin to tighten up. I would like to see this track come around again with some more improvement.

Just spoke to Monster Performance. Due to the rumors I've been hearing to confirm. They are currently in negotiations to purchase the track and are planning on dumping a crap load of money into it. Should be finalized soon. The three Fridays they rented it were the best its been in a long time. They will be adding a drifting track as well. They are out of Crete ILL.

The above info is exactly correct. Bring back the good old days of US41! lol Sorry for the thread pirate. The track prep around the Monster events was fantastic...at least the first 100 feet was, after that you took your life in your own hands. lol
