13.98 with no 3rd gear!!!

13.98 with no 3rd gear!!! Ran my M6 98 Z28 the other night, and managed to pull a 13.98. My 3rd gear is absolutely gone! My worst time was only a 14.14 @102mph!!! I was only there to practice some 60's and perfect the launch, but I said what the hell, let's see what she'l do for the fun of it. I was expecting mid to low 15's, boy was I shocked! The only things that are done to the car right now is a lid w/ k&n, 85 mm maf, and a catback! .....unbelieveable!

I am forced to drive it like this everyday, untill i can get all the parts together to do all of the trans rebuild the way that I want it. This means clutch and related parts too. A bunch of us went to a T&T night and The bug bit me too hard. I had to do something, so I figured that since the rest of the gears were fine, I could practice comming out of the hole, and my 60 ft times for later. The first run I was lined up with a neon. Im sorry, but there was no way that I was going to just coast down the track and let a neon walk me.When I saw the time that I ran (14.14) I was so surprised that I wanted to see what else it had. Keep in mind that at no point in the evening did I ever even atempt to put the car in 3rd. I completely went around it so that no further damage to the trans would occur.

yes, oil has been changed. As far as driving it goes, I kinda don't have a choice in the matter as it is my only vehicle. It will be fixed the last week of June. It will be sitting from the 5th to the 20th while i am on leave also. As far as the racing goes,......what can I say, I just love it too much. Especially when I can say that I ran a 13.76 tonight withot third gear, on a street tire, and with a slipping stock clutch that will be relaced when the trans is rebuilt at the end of the month!
