Do I need a E brake?

Long story short, Back in the day I bought my 9 inch out from under an LS1 car, It Was ready to bolt on and had the LS1 brakes so I put it under my LT1 car. The ebrake cables were diffrent so I done away with the e brake. Now doing more stuff to the car Im curious if I need an e brake and does NHRA tech requre one? Car will be a streetable drag car. any suggestions and input is appreciated.

I don't think that you would need one. Several cars don't have them, and really if your trapping some good mph do you honestly think that those POS ebrakes are going to stop you? Your E-brake is going to be a parachute if your gonna go that fast. Good luck but I am not using one on my car, never had any problems or reason to use one.

NHRA tech does not require an e-brake, and most dedicated drag cars don't have them. However it's not a bad thing to have functional especially if you do some street driving. You never know when you could possibly lose your brakes - crowded pits, staging lanes or return road... plus it's another safety when loading/unloading or working on it.

Thanks fellas. Im going to look and see if i have all the stuff to put them on. I remember buying LS1 cables a few years ago. If not then I wont worry about it. Thanks again

You do not need an e-brake by NHRA rules. In fact most race cars will not have one because it is extra weight, and they are usually automatics and have "Park".

I looked last night and couldnt find all the pieces to put the e brake on. So I guess I ll leave it off.
