Default Not pleased with track numbers

OK guys just had a cam installed. I went twith the TSP 231/237, I'm not bashing this cam or anything guys. It made 372hp and 352 lb-ft of torque on the dyno. The best et i could manage was a 12.6 @112 on a 1.9 60 ft. I am shifting around 6400. I am still trying to get used to this cam cuz I am bouncing off the rev limiter in 1st gear alot! Sometimes second, I need a shift light bad. I was just expecting better trap speeds. That is the only thing that I am really disapointed with. I am going to remove my cats and put in some cut outs and see how many ponies that will free up. I know I still need some boltons but I was just expecting a little more from the cam swap. It was in some terrible North Carolina humid heat though. My best before the cam swap is in the sig. So the only thing that has improved is my trap speed by one mph.

sounds like 1) traction is not there 2) traction beyond the 60' isnt being considered 3) do you have a shift light? 4) rev limitors KILL mph and ET.

if you made 370 something rwhp through a moser rearend then you are making plenty of power. you just have to setup the car and train the driver.

Yea I'm not sure if I want to save for slicks and skinnies or go ahead and throw some cut outs on there. I was just very disappointed with that trap speed. I know that traction will do wonders for my ET once I get some. Shift light has got to come soon to or I will never shift consistintley.

Give it some time bro.. I remember when I purchased the T1 cam and Mac headers a long time ago. I went from 318rwhp to 390rwhp.. Stock I somehow got my car to run 13.2 at 108-110mph with F1's on a 2.0 60ft. With the T1 cam on my first night out I ran a 13.0 at 112-114mph.. I was so disappointed, but I was getting 2.1-4 60 ft times. It took me 3 months and 17 inch drag radials to get 12.28 at 116mph. You just need to practice.

Vince, did you really pick up 3mph while improving your driving/traction, i.e without significant hardware changes? I have a similar situation-1st time at track with my car with a TR224 cam A4- no traction (or driving maybe) 2.06 60ft., 12.51 @ 112.4. I was kind of figuring my mph wouldn't change when I get 60ft down around 1.7 but maybe I'm wrong. That would make sense because I thought I would trap more like 115 with the 370ish rwhp I've dyoned.

Thats what I was thinking about the MPH. I thought my et wouldn't be good because of the traction but I thought the MPH would be there. We will see, I'm going to get some cut outs and have them put on. I'll be back to the track next friday.
