I'm gonna race with some guy, he got mustang v8, stick shift.

I never raced before, so i have silly questions, when i start off, should i press accelerator pedal up to the end(floor) ?
To fatser chnage gears, should i press accelerator pedal a couple times, u know when u do that, it chnages faster ?
Just please, let me know all what i need to know, to kick this guy ***
Please !!!!!

Thanky ou very much !!!

Depending on how good the tires will grab, give gas accordingly.
If you can mash the gas pedal and the tires won't spin, then do that. Otherwise, roll onto the throttle. Give the car as much gas as you can before the tires spin (you'll have to practice this one)

Once moving, don't take your foot off the gas and hit it again. This makes the car shift earlier if anything. Just keep it to the floor and let the computer shift on it's own.
Leave it in "D" too...

Hope this helps and good luck.

If you guys are racing on the street, well I assume you are, make sure you do a pretty good burnout to get the tires heated....the stock tires really aren't that good for all the power the LS1 has...

good luck !

The stock tires really aren't much on really good burnouts either. Just a waste of tire, IMO.

Thank you all very much for your replies,
all i can add that i don't have "bald tires" for racing aka Nitto 555R Drag Radials though...
and comments as for "...give it gas as much as you can before tires spin.."
well, it takes, a bit more than 2k rpm to make them spin, so, that's why i'm not quiet sure..
hopefuly computer chip shifts faster than his hand
Thank you all, if anything else u have to add go ahead
