How much does a 6 point Wolfe cage weigh??

My days of gutting my car will be to an end after this winter and I might as well make my car legal for N2O runs soon. Does anyone know how much it weighs and if there any other bars that weigh less and/or don't use the space where our rear speakers mount?

Not real sure but I can tell you that it's pretty damn heavy. Maybe 75-85 lbs?

I would guess that they are 85-90lbs for a 6 pt mild steel cage.

Actually most 6 point bars weigh in at 75lbs, this is for mild steel anyway....

The Wolfe bars are marginally legal becuase of the door bar placement. Whenever putting in a bar/cage have a chasis shop do it or read the NHRA rule book at least three times before you start welding. Pay particular attention to the main hoop hight and the door bar. This is where they will get you in tech. Just my .02 worth

I installed only 5pts, and the weight was around 65-70#s. I did !bumper, !back seat back, !sail panels, !swaybar, and !spare tire to get back down to stock weight. <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

80lbs is no big deal - it'll sure as hell save your *** if you wreck. Never know, lotta crazy drivers out there. <img src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" border="0">

What is the Wolfe made out of? How much lighter would Cromoly be?
