Default What front ride height for drag racing?

I just installed my Strange shocks from Jay @ Billingsley Racing and ended up with a little bit of a higher ride height up front than I expected. My question is: Is it better to sit lower or a little higher for ultimate weight transfer? By the way the shocks work fantastic. I can't wait to see the track results over my old QA1s. I also pulled the sway bar. Thanks.

I ride mine at normal stock height because of potholes and dips in the roads with the hal shocks. For drag racing, the lowest ride height would be better for less drag going down the track--I am no expert by any means...but I would either ride the normal height or adjust the ride height a little lower for the track to have a lowered center of gravity for a little increase in MPH and ET. Experiment slowly and find which works best for you and check with friends at their ride height for best results. Cheers and good luck..........................................

Lowering the front end will result in increased MPH due to less drag.

mine is slammed. I have like no ground clearance but the car is not a daily driver adn I compensate for it by putting the shocks on 12/stiffest setting for street use. car rides like **** anyway so i don't care, and it keeps it from smacking the headers and cross brace for the Tq arm on every bump in the road.

It should be atleast the stock height. It will transfer the weight better. My car is a 1/2" low in the front and I need to raise it back up. If it's up higher sitting then it will come up even higher on the launch which means more weight on the rear tires.

Ok, I'm confused now. The Stranges don't extend as much as the QA1, this I know. Therefore, wouldn't I want the front lower to ge more upward momentum to maximize lift and weight transfer.

Or, will having a higher ride height make it easier to launch due to less upward distance to travel? HELP!

Exactly. Since it's up higher already it will let it come up that much more when you launch.

i would think having the front at stock ride hight is better for your launch and 60ft times' witch would help your et more than having less drag. the front would take far less movement to let your weight transfer and you could run your shocks softer

So I should just leave it at a higher ride height then? I think that's what I'll do.

MHO:

Put at normal stock height
If you have relocation brackets, put in the lowest setting.

You want move transition from takeoff to actual run. If car goes too high in air, it is wasted motion and energy, instantaneous takeoff is what you want. cheers and good luck.......................................
