Shipping weight on the carpet is like 12lbs and you still gotta trim it. I left the little bit of grey jute pad on it.

I recently installed this carpet, I weighed it out of the box at 13.4


I then weighed what I cut off to fit into the car, center console and side extra. That weighed 1.7



For a total installed weight of 11.7 lbs with the padding on the back left on.

Nice, did you by chance weigh what you pulled out? I did weigh mine I wanna say it was in the 20s so not as much as some people claim.

I took all the old carpet out, the new carpet only goes to just behind the rear seat back. I am going to finish off the rest in ozite. I only need a 3' by 2' piece to finish it off.

so was the 39.7lbs on the scale with the trunk area or just the front? steve asked and you said just the front but then said you removed it all so i was just a little confused lol. have you driven the car with the new carpet?

With the speed inc carpet they sell a front and rear piece. I just bought the front piece. The Speed INc front piece is 2ft shorter than the stock carpet I pulled out of the car.

So the stock carpet I pulled out that weighed 39.7 goes from the dash to the top of the T-Top well, I didn't include the t-top well carpet or the rear well carpet.

The Speed INC carpet goes from the dash to the top of the rear seat back, so about 2 feet shorter.

I really don't understand why they just don't sell the carpet the same length as the stock carpet. They sell a front and a rear piece. The additional rear piece was $150. I wasn't going to pay 150 for the 2 more ft I needed.

I won't be near my car until april 14 or I would take a pick.

I have driven the car and it didn't seem too much louder. I left the pad on the back of my carpet because my 4 year old daughter loves going for rides in the car and I wanted to keep it a little quiet.

I really like the molded fit. I was going to do just ozite carpet but I know it would have drove me crazy and I am a M6 and I like the heel pad in the carpet under your feet.

The ozite if you take your time to stretch it right and then slit/seam it together correctly it comes out very good. I have done several cars with it and everyone I've done it for was very happy with the appearance.

There's colors that match stock GM colors almost perfect as well so that aids in noone looking and really noticing that it's done. I even put it in my car after the 25.3 was finished, that was alot more of a challenge to get in since there's so many bars in the car but it just makes it look that little more classy than the stock floorboards with tubes sectioned into them everywhere. Everyone that's been by and seen it has agreed to the point that's where 1/2 the people that wanted it installed saw it first.

No ozite ive ever seen can withstand any kind of wear though. Thats my biggest argument against itm

Floor mat always stopped that issue. it does wear alot I won't argue that, but if it's a race car and you just put the floor mat in the drivers side, or one of the thin plastic ones that you can get just where your feet are, it works good.

That's what I did with it, I ran a small piece of a clear mat where my feet were, and spray adhesive attached it to the ozite... never had a problem. Almost looked like it was supposed to be there too at a quick glance.

LOL nice, I could afford to lose 86lbs myself lol. Every 100#'s approx. a tenth off the clock...And be easier to climb over the damned monkey bars in the car.

The gains from the lightweight brakes are a lot more than just the curb weight. Most of the gain here is rotating weight and that equals free horsepower.

I have a 5th gen wheels/tires/brakes package that drops over 250 pounds off the car, and I figured over 90% is rotating.
