Default High RPM miss

Recently installed Macs and orp,new tr55, accel 300+ wires, and new fuel filter.I dont know if its related, but ive got a miss off and on between 5100 and 5500.It pulls out of it, and pulls hard to 6000.ve double checked the plugs and wires and all is good. It doesnt do it all the time, and is most prevalent in 3rd gear.Could I possibly have a coil going bad. Ive never heard of problems with them Car is a00SS M6. It does have a Gran. mass air, could it be that? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Put it on a scanmaster and got no KR, steady 28 degrees timing, o2 were a little @ 920. At 162 water temp it was fine, but when warmed up to 192 it did it all the time.

yea thats me that has the exact same problem. I am about ready to blow the car up I am so pissed at it

Mine is the same way, it will run just fine when the motor is not very hot but when it gets up to normal operating temps it misses out bad. Do you know which cylinder is missing out? Mine is missing on #8

I posted about my problem in another thread so hopefully SOMEONE can help us out.

could the o2 sensors be freaking out at higher operating temps? I am just pulling things out of my but right now trying to figure out whats up with my car.

my car has Grots, ORP, tr55's and MSD wires. I originally put in tr6's then bosch platinum's and now the tr55's and I just put the plug wires on this past weekend. I have also swapped coil packs around and the car still misses on #8

My car has never done it in first gear, and rarely in second. It is usually in third, and is just a slight stumble. One guy told me he had the same thing, and it was the egr ring. Which was removed and replaced with the header install so it could be it. Ill let you know.

well we just got back from working on it and it turned out to be rust in the fuel rail. we pulled the #8 injector and put it in the #1 injector spot. we took it out and made some test runs and it was missing on #1 and #8. so aparently some gunk has built up in my fuel rails back by the #8 injector.

hopefully I can get a new fuel rail and injectors soon and Ill let you know if that is what is wrong.

not sure if that is what is wrong with your car but I dont think mine would be the EGR ring since I dont have one

Took the egr tube off and it appeared the o ring was not on evenly{ dont know if i did this pulling the tube out] so i put it on straight and went for a test pass, still had a slight stumble around 5400 and then pulled right thru it. Dont know if its poss the o ring is on upside down, cause we took it off to do the egr mod on the 99 style unit to go with my macs? Its{o ring] flat on one side, and has two overlapping flaps on the other. Which side should be facing up? Cant find any pictures of the proper installion.

Took the egr o ring off today, examined it, it looked fine. put it back on and made three passes,it ran perfect! It hauled *** and pulled smoothly to 6000!.I am cautiously optimistic, but I think that cured it . Previously it stumbled every time in third gear. 1 Dirty Z you are THE MAN Ill make some passes tomorrow and follow-up. Think Im ready for the Viper, Vette, and F-Body shoot-out at Desoto raceway in Bradenton Fl. on Feb 10th!

Ok I know this is going to sound dumb but are you talking about the EGR o-ring right behind the TB? since my car is an 01 I dont have that EGR hookup so I am just out of luck I guess.
