Hal rears with + & -, what direction to soften up

Hal rears with + & -, what direction to soften up Can someone answer this question? My Hal QA1 rear drag shocks only have one dial that says - in one direction & + in the other. Which way do I turn the dial to make it squat harder?? Thanks, Fred
