Default Any problems fitting a kirky, summit or jegs racing seat in our F bodies?

I'm looking at ways to drop some weight off the car since the 6pt. is going in pretty soon and was needing to know how well these seats fit in our cars or will there be alot of drilling holes and fabrication to make them fit?

I have Kirkey seats.

You need to make custom brackets for them to save weight. I had a chassis shop do it and they used angle brackets.

I have been considering going with the Corbeau Seats in the Clubman serries which weigh 13.5 lbs. I assume this includes the seat cover--I really don't know. The Kirkey seats are very good seats. Anyway, good luck with the seat selection. Cheers............................................ ...........

Scott the Kirkey seats is a very good choice for our cars..I mounted mine directly to the floor without using mounting brackets..I have a set of Kirkey mounting brackets if you need them..Here are some pictures of them in the car...

Tim,thanks for the help Does your mounting brackets let the seat adjust forward or backwards? I need to adjust the seat for my shorter legs lol.

Outlaw, thanks for the picture. How do you get in and out of that car without throwing your back out?

No problem Scott..They are mounted right on the floor and since I'm 6' tall I like to sit as far back and low as I can..Check your PM's..

I have 2 of the Jeg's high back plastic seats with the leather seat cover in my hotrod. I bought some metal stock and welded my own seat brackets. The ones that came with the seats are no good for the 4th gen. You would have to grind/bang the floor flat to use them. There are too many contours on our floorboards.

I'll try to get some pics of the seats and the brackets for ya.
