With and without AC belt?

With and without AC belt?

Anyone ever do a back to back test to see how ET is affected with and without the AC belt? I had mine off last year but we are going to a car show Saturday and it's supposed to be warm so I put it back on. I'm curious as to how much, if any ET, is to be gained. On the C5 LS1 the only thing the AC belt runs is the AC compressor. Can't believe there is really that much to be gained. I know there is some ET to be had from removing the main serpentine belt (at least there was a tenth on some LT1 cars I've owned) but I'm not interested in taking that one off.

Unless you're running with the AC on....I doubt it.
Compressor only runs when AC or defrosters are on, just free wheels otherwise.

Should be virtually no difference as its not engaged, only meaningful gain is to remove the system as it fall under weight reduction.

I believe the AC Compressor will only have a resistance when it is turned on. They use a clutch if im correct. For the track I would always remove the belt still, as its always been said, Every little bit counts counts.
