Default New Best at Eunice Today..

The weather was good today so I decided to make the trip over to Eunice. My best of the day was 11.66 @ 118.85 mph on a 1.67 60' trying to catch Tim H. The car was not hooking good for me today, but there is always next time I guess. Before the Stage 2 heads I ran an 11.80 @ 116 on a 1.58, and on a 1.67 60' I ran a 11.97. I think everyone out today was running a little off their bests so I know I've got more in it.

Also, my friend Eric (Form4speed) ran his 2002 Formula A4. The car has stock RSA tires and 2.73 gears, whisper lid, and FTRA. He went 13.1 @ 106mph on a 1.98 60' if I remeber correctly. I was amazed how well the car launched considering the gears and tires. Congrats Eric!

Very nice times Justin!

I hope we have one more good day of racing before the crappy air comes back. I'm going to try to make it out next weekend. I can't wait to try out the new mod.

Don't know. I was on prostars front and rear, !spare and jack, !front sway bar. I removed the passenger seat after a couple of passes, but I also had 3/4 tank of gas. I weigh 180lbs myself, and the 12 bolt probably adds some weight. I am planning on weight reduction mods this summer, such as PA Racing K member and A arms, light weight carpet, and maybe remove the bumper supports.

Nice runs.
Who ported the heads?
Also, if the car is making more power it is going to have less traction...it kinda makes sense that you were spinning. Did you change any suspension to compensate for the (hopefully) 40 rwhp you picked up?

Thanks Mike. No suspension changes made to the car. Stock shocks, Eibach springs, and BMR LCAs. I don't have relocation brackets or an adjustable PHR.

How does a nice big stall, some better gears, and slicks sound to you, Justin? Shoould give those 2 tenths I need to be in the twelves I would say.
BTW I am going to put the Hooker LTs on my car friday afternoon. Also thinking of polishing the Throttle Body while I am at it.

BTW Justin, see you are planning on taking out the bumper. If I can get the bumpers off, I think I may try it this friday. I have 2:30- 10:30 to work on my car, so I shall see what I can get done!

Sup Eric, I'm off of work friday so I can help you out after 1:30. A convertor, headers, and tires will put you DEEP into the 12s. I say stick with the 2.73s though and see how they work before spending the $$$ changing them.

Leo, thanks man! I'm running 4.10s in the 12 bolt and ET Drags at 15psi. Leaving at 5500rpm and spinning this time, last time out I would bog at 5500. Not sure if it was the track prep or the added power like Mike said.

15 psi...uhhhh...theres your problem. try about 12.5 next time out. You shock them too much for that pressure without a tube in them.

Alrighty Justin I will give you a ring. I hear 4 hands are better than 2 when it comes to putting these headers in.
I am guessing with 2.73 I will be shifting into OD before the end of the track. I really do not know what I am talking about, so my guess may be wrong.

no..the higher the gear the lower the mph will be on every shift. Ex. shift from 1-2 at 45 with 2.73s..install 3.73s and you will be shifting from first to second at 35. Also, you will accelerate faster with the higher gear.
