What kind of Launch technique are you using?? and what tire pressure are you setting them at??
Have 245 nittos on the car and am about to order vig 3200. Wondering how long i can get away without buying ET's.

its kind of hard to explain. To heat them up- i backed into the water box, even though i had skinnies it still made it impossible to hook when i went through the water box.
rolled out of the box to get the tires wet all around, then started to heat the up. I let off the brake and rolled onto the dry pavement and that heated them up nicely without having to do a 10 minute burnout, and without having to do a dry burnout. i had about 20 pounds of air cool, which was like 22 by the time i checked and they were warm.
i found that stalling the converter up wont get you much of an ET gain (of course i couldnt hook either). i pretty much left off idle and just "rolled" into it. i couldnt go WOT off the line without spinning. nittos will hold, but you have to be real concious about how much throttle to give it so it doesnt break lose.

Nittos 245-50-16 on stock rims, Yank 3000. Tried PSI from 32-15. Also tried leaving from idle and footbraking the converter(stock suspension). Best 60ft was 2.08 at 2100ft altitude. Could not hook very well. Also do not have better traction on the street than with Radials. Won't buy any more Nittos for sure.

Re: *** NITTOs *** Post your best 60'...
This might not be what your looking for, because
I have a 94 Cobra that weighs 3490 with me in it.
I am on my 3rd set of Nitto 275/40/17 DRs.
I run them at 17 lbs of pressure at the track.
I do a 4 second 2nd gear dry burnout with 3.73s.
I frequently pull 1.63-1.69 60fts with a 5 speed.
I have even squeaked a 1.59 once???? I keep that
ticket in my wallet along with the 11.47&11.48.
Ironically my 2 best passes ever were not with my
best 60fts???? 55* weather related?????
The car only dyno'd 385 rwhp at LaRoccas Sept 01.
I like the Mustang clutch "cable" operation better
than the F-body's Hydralic actuation.
I have trouble feeling the launch and riding it
out with the hydralics. That is why my new Hawk
is an A4.
I am looking forward to a Yank 2800 & Nittos for
the new Hawk and I feel 1.7-1.8s should net me
12.5s????? We'll have to see, June 02 hopefully.

1.62 on 17" Nittos (20 psi). 3742 lb race weight. ST3500 and 3.73 gears. Pretty good for a heavy *** convertible.

Re: *** NITTOs *** Post your best 60'...
1.62 on 245/16's on 16inch weld XP Wheels
only got a 12.18 on that run.
my best time came on my 1.64 60'
but im very consistent in the lowwwww 1.6's and should be hitting 1.5's if i get brave enough and launch at idle with the vig3600
i have 3.23's also/stock rear
but nittos will hold anything from 1.55's up to 1.64's easy... the colonel just is a exception hahaa
all i do is go around water box, back into the edge, roast tires(5-6 seconds), burn up to the tree untill i feel them starting to grip..
stage, leave tree with a little hesitation then mash it..
oh i run them at 21psi most of the time.. but anywhere from 20-22 is ideal
