easy.
you want your rear to last longer... reduce the weight of your car.

And again I say that you'll hit 10.59 before this year's cool weather is up too.
The temp was around 70 degrees ( or higher)
There was some kind of Vette gathering there yesterday and in my first pass I was paired with a 50 year old newbie. He took forever to stage.
That did not help my traction as my tires were cooling off. Ahh well, you cant have it your way all the time.
Here is the slip.

I spun a bit and that slowed my e.t. but it sure didnt hurt my MPH. 125 mph in an A4! Man now THAT is a MPH. I honestly didnt think this car had that kind of MPH in it. But with this MTI tuning and a that weight I removed wednesday morning. Bam, there it is. 125.
I have "permagrin" on my face right now. I waited a long time for this racing season and it sure is fun enjoying the heck out of it. 10.6's and now 125 mph? to say I am happy with this MTI stage 2 Head/cam combo is an understatement.
So I drove back around and got in line. The car was pretty warm so I left it off and some VERY nice folks from Waco puched me through the lanes. (THANKS GUYS!!!)
The second pass? It was about 15 mins or so after the first pass that I ran the second pass. Well I got stuck behind a radial tired C5 and then when it was burn out time the C5 driver in the other lane again took forever to stage. but once he did. The race was on.
I had purposely avoided the previous vette's tire marks when I staged to avoid where his radial tires had torn up the track. Since I knew I was going after a radial tired car I did a extra long burn out and staged. I was only stalling the verter up to 3000, anything more and the car would try to push through the beams.
Here is the time slip

So while my 60's improved with the better launch... my mph suffered a bit. Was the car heat soaked? Did I get it too hot waiting for the old farts to finally stage? I dont know...what i do know is that if I can get to the track on a day that is cold, dry and at HRP. There are going to be some KILLER time slips forth coming. The track was about 74 degrees at this time.
I think Larry Cato got the second run on film. Now that I would like to see. How about it Larry?
And Rageman, tell Chris, Nittin and everybody "Howdy" for me. And tell them, thanks for the help.
Dave and the Fastech BeaSSt were out there....Dave how did y'all run yesterday. Sorry I had to split early and go to work.
Ed and Larry Cato. Thanks for scanning those slips. I do appreciate it. Larry, we have GOT to see that car of yours running down the 1/4 mile soon. God speed.
Scott White. Pretty cool. your 2002 Z28 yeasterday with 600 miles on it ran 13.21?
LOL. Not too shabby for a newbie.
Hey, I think Larry Cato got some good footage of your car. Larry?
Later fellas. Ya'll take care.

I went to HRP on Sunday night and got a new best trap speed for me ... 120.24! We had cold weather but there was a terrific headwind from the North ... 17 mph with gusts to 22 mph ... which surely hurt the trap speed and ET. I raised the hood on my car several times to block the wind and to warm me up.
See 'ya at the track some time.
Danny
