Default Best TH400 brake for the money?

Looking at putting a brake in my th400 and just curious what brand everyone is running. This is a car that will see a good bit of street use and a good bit at the track as well. Thanks for any advice.

I think I'm going to go with a hipster brake everyone seems to recommend these over TCI etc.

Does anyone make a th400 pan that is already tapped for a trans temp gauge?

Griner Pro brake is probably one of the best out there. If M&M Trans(Mark Micke) is using it, gotta be good.

Griner.
End thread.

Coan, and a few others make good valve bodies too... All far beyond the hipster

He said for the money, $700 brake is overkill in a street strip trans for a sportsman tree.
Griner is a high end billet valve body pro tree brake with an internal solenoid.

Yes.... $700+...for a billet aluminum, clean sheet design. It is the fastest reacting brake on the market....

So $700 is cheap for all that. Even in bracket racing you need a consistent and fast brake. it will pay for itself in saving aggravation

Maybe a dumb question but does the trans need to be out of the car to put a hipster brake in?

I run a TCI transbrake. It is a good unit. The good thing about transbrakes, is they are not power related. As long as it functions how it is supposed to, that is all you need. I could only see maybe response times being a little different between units. But anyways, the TCI transbrake is $430.

I've used both Trans Specialties and Griner.

Both are reliable.

Griner is Quicker.
