Default New Best! Got the BOOT!

Well it's been a struggle, but the hard work is paying off. I love the automatic. I went from 1.95 - 2.05 60ft's with the 6 speed (clutch issues) to 1.60's! Sure felt good. With only 2 passes, I didn't get enough time to mess with anything. But here's how the runs went.

RUN 1
60 1.668 New Best!
330 4.839 New Best!
1/8 7.504 New Best!
MPH 92.05
1/4 11.763 New Best!
MPH 115.39

I go to pick up my time slip and the guy points over and says puller on over here, and gives me a puzzled look. I pretty well knew what it was all about and I had a smile from ear to ear.

RUN 2
60 1.606 New Best!
330 4.788 New Best!
1/8 7.460 New Best!
MPH 91.83
1/4 11.730 New Best!
MPH 115.10

I told the track official that I would only make 1/8 mile passes, but it came out of the hole so good I couldn't let up. Plus I didn't want to wait another 1.5hrs to run again.

I had a great time. The runs were made at Southwestern International Raceway near Tucson, AZ. Elevation is 3075ft. with a DA of 3351ft during the time of the runs. Just for the heck of it I corrected them using the NHRA calculator and estimated it as an 11.24@120.13 pass at sea level. My O2's were ranging from .930-.970, so there is plenty left in it. Not too bad for a couple shake down runs.

I don't know if I can run back out there tommorow, but a sea level track is in the plans next weekend. Where's MR.Terry Burger?

Congrats on the new times. You gotta love the A4's. Those are some really nice times for the DA you had. I'm really interested in seeing how much your ET is reduced at a sea-level track.

Thanks guys.

TrevorD

When I ran my bests of 12.25 and 119.69 near Sea-level (Carlsbad), I ran at LACR (2700ft.) three days before and only ran 12.7X@114 or so. And last night we were running into a 8-9MPH head wind with gusts in excess of 25MPH. So I'm VERY curious to see what it'll do as well.

Yep 11's were long over due. What was your best time on the stock short block? I need something to aim for. I don't think 10's are out of the question with a more aggressive cam and my new Stage II heads....and HRP like weather.

My old heads/cam best ET?

11.61 @ 119.24 (1.72 60') 3605 lbs with LS1 intake. Never ran it with an LS6 intake (not available back then). Weather was in the 65F range, DA probably around 500 ft

I was in the bay area but I'm back now. I'm hoping to head out to the track next Saturday with my new 4400rpm stall. Any plans to make your car 11 second legal? I'd hate to beat you on a technicality.

Pete!!! 11.50's WOW. That's a huge improvement.

I think that puts you in the elite h/c 6spd cars.
You ready for that 229 cam

Mike tell it like it really is. You don't want your wife to see you get smoked in that shinny C5 of yours by two ghetto Camaros...
