Default Wahoo!!! 11's

Went to the track today in a quest for 11's, and I finally busted out my first ever 11 sec slip. Man does it feel good.
heres how it looks:
639---RT
1.61--60ft.
4.813-330ft.
7.53--1/8et
89.7--1/8mph
11.92--1/4et
111.3--mph

needless to say i was really stoked. This was done with stock heads, and with the stock ls1intake. I am going to add the ls6 intake soon. Could 11.80's be possible??? I would appreciate some criticism of the timeslips. Although its great to get into the 11's. I think that my car has room for improvement and a quicker E.T. Thanks for your help guys

A BIG THANKS GOES OUT TO NINEBALL. Tony, I hooked up the KO box, A-tapped it and i got ZERO degrees of KR down the whole track I was pumped. timing was between 27-29 degrees.

my mph was down becaue it was really windy, in which the wind was going AGAINST us. could that affect mph that much? prolly 25mph winds.

I bet it has a little more in it, just get some more runs in. Do you have headers on the car?

Jack: big-time congrats on your first 11 second pass! I hope to know what it feels like within a month - just a couple of tenths and a torque converter away from joining the club!

Again, nice going. It takes a lot of dedication to get that level of performance!

Guys,
thanks for the "thank you's" I want to really try and get the car into the 11.80-11.70 range without touching the heads for 'now'. If that ls6 intake can squeeze my 11.92 into an 11.80'ish range, i'll be really happy. I dont think that the 25mph wind going against me was helping either.

Onyx:
yeah, the car has FLP's with the ORP.

I just noticed the 2 MPH drop from your 12.15, a 25 MPH headwind will do that to ya. You're supposed to go to the track when there's a tailwind!

Onyx: yeah im thinkin that a 25mph wind goin against us will prolly cost me at least a couple mph. I couldn't believe how windy it was, never seen carlsbad like that before.

Terry: Thanks. yeah you missed a good day. I actually saw some vht on the track but by 10:00 am most of it was all soaked up .When that PT4400 comes rollin in, i wanna see you there

Evil and BSPZ28: thanks, first 11 sec timeslip is priceless

John,
thanks man! yeah it just felt way to great. People were looking at me weird on the return road when i was screaming my lungs out in my car

I have the ST-3500, stock gears, on Centerline convo pros 15* 7 1/2 with Hoosier Drags 26*9.

I still can't bring the car up any higher than 2500 off the line without spinning. that 1.61` was achieved from bringing it up to 2K rpms. I would like to bring it up to 3K and hammer it but am traction limited.

thanks and take care,
jack

Egads, thats a lot of meat out back. And you still cant get traction? YIKES! Man, that launch pad must SUCK.

Good luck on improving your 60's. There is a LOT more in that car that your not seeing because of the 60' number.

Lata, and congrats again.

Raugh.

John, you really have to believe that California tracks suck major ***! I was at the track that day with Jack, I acutally raced him on his 11 sec pass, hehe. The track prep is alomst nil, the track hasn't re-paved since the 80's, there are frickin weeds growing on the track!! Jack and I were thinking of a "pilgrimage" out to Houston, unfortunately is 1900 miles and a 25 hour drive according to mapquest

Onyx
11.929
111.39

im gonna try a different track this week. The elevation is a little over 1K but races start around 9am so the weather should be cool. These Cali tracks just can't hook like those houston tracks
