Why is my trap speed so high? First off let me say that I have been drag racing for many years but this was my first time at the track with my '99 SS. I have owned 3 Camaros, 2 Firebirds and 1 Vette. my '98 T/A trapped a best of 84.71 in the 1/8th mile with 2:73 gears and just free mods and a Lid. last Thursday the weather was perfect, the temp was 51* with good dry air. my pass was a 8.71@87.20 with a 2.196 60ft time on F1's! does this sound possible? the only reason I'm sking is because there have been a few guys questioning my time slip <img src="gr_sad.gif" border="0"> my mods on the SS are as follows: Lid, K&N, !EGR !spare tire & jack plus I have the optional dual/dual 3" catback. I think with Nitto's and a 1.9XX 60ft time I could see 8.30's what do you think?

Re: Why is my trap speed so high? The 87mph is due to the spinning 2.19 60ft. It should have a 8.30 in it with a 1.9. My best 1/8th bone stock was a 8.11 with a 1.91 60ft on the stock gsc's but that was under perfect conditions and very sticky track. She dead hooked.
