I had an eventful night lol. MAde 10 passes. Adjusted everything on the rear of the car and couldnt get a single ******* 60 foot out of it. Last pass of the night one of the trans cooler hoses blew out of the 6an fitting after being there two years, trans fluid down half of the shut down. fluid all over everything. Sliding all over the place. So i let off the brakes to avoid the wall and coasted through the sand. And before the chute comments lol.
I used the chute a few times. But I was stopping plenty fine without repacking the stupid thing. By the time I started sliding I was only doing 50-60 tops so the chute wouldnt have helped anyways. Oh well a little clean up is better then body panels. Dodged a bullet. Had to push the car on the trailer because it was empty of trans fluid. Just my luck.
So tomorrow Im cleaning it up and going over all of the rear end adjustments and trying again sunday at my usual track.
Really want to make a full pass A-B at this power. As you can see the white line at the bottom of the log is tps. I was barely on the throttle throughout these passes. Every pass I let out 3-5 times. It was weird.
Sounds like a fun night though. I've pushed my car on the trailer way to many times. Harbor freight has you covered for $50. I cut up a old Explore hitch and receiver and welded everything up. Pull the receiver and winch out to keep in the dry all the time.

I have a decent winch for it. I loaned it to a friend and he drug a 7000lb van with flat tires up it and broke the cable so I need to get it fixed. Thanks for the idea though! The tow hitch was genius!
I had fun. This thing is violent when it catches traction!
You’re definitely in good spirits considering lol
HAHA **** happens. Ill have it cleaned up and fixed today. Hoping weather holds out so I can make some hits tomorrow.
I wish I had the spare cash for a better set of shocks. These vikings are said to only be good up 750-900. Im wondering if I am pushing them too hard. idk. Ill get it figured out one way or the other.
Worst case next saturday is a big no et race and there are a few fast guys there I know that may be able to lend a hand and walk my lack of shock tuning *** a little further.
The regular double adjustable Vikings are junk. Red eyes or go home. But at the power you’re making I would skip the crusaders as well. Go straight to some Menscers. Don’t let the price scare you. But that thing is a 4 second car with some good shocks on it. Trust me. And Vikings aren’t gonna get you there.

I agree with you completely. For the money I have into the car. Id gladly pay for them. It will do nothing but improve it.
I dont mean it to get that response! Im hoping it fires people up and gets them to the garage too!!
One man band.Work 8-5 at a computer store and then on cars on the side for myself! I am a very tired individual. I dont make a ton of money but I try real hard to support my habit!
My girlfriend does not agree with it but she see's the reasoning. I give her her time here and there lol
Well, I'm starting to get old and lazy. Plus, the summer weather here in north FL is a killer. On the hot days, all I can manage is about 2-3hrs in the garage and I'm done for the day. You used to live down here, you know

Oh I hear you man. It is miserable to work in the shop during summer.
I couple small issues I had a little out of whack. The largest issue being the tq arm was hitting the floor in 50% of its area. I am assuming thats what was giving me the bounce.
Car would hook hard and then in an instance slam back down.
So I raised the rear of the car up about an inch more and hopefully it clears. Tightened compression quite a bit to try and hopefully get seperation instead of squating so hard. Loaded up and awaiting testing. 1/8th mile track on friday to keep the reason the short track. IF all goes well back to 131 dragway saturday and fly!
I think raising it and getting the little extra angle on the lca's is going to help with your seperation more than stiffening the shocks up. Im no good at tuning suspension either so I'll learn from your mistakes along the way.
Friday and saturday testing is in the books. I made 26 1/8th mile hits and 6 1/4 hits. Best of 1.40/1.41 @128 on 16.5 psi. I tried everything, stiff, soft, loose, tight, up, down, side to side. Nothing worked well for me. I pulled timing back to 10 degrees total to reduce power, added fuel and put the afr's into the low 10's to lose power, i ramped boost in the computer so that the controller didnt come on until 6,000+rpm. Going for seperation I managed the 1.40-1.41@128.x and 5.65/5.68 at onondaga 1/8th. Felt like very nicely prepped track too! Once I get the car working Id definitely go there more for short track work.
So End of the day I did what no one said to do. I went old school and softened the hell out of the rear. Raised the front about 1.5" and just let it ride.
I made due with what I had and turned the car up haha
car wouldnt leave hard at the line or leave hard and stay leaving hard. But with all of the adjustments it was pretty straight the rest of the way. The 1.47 60 was a 50% throttle leave for a half second and laid into it. It hung on the rest of the pass.
22.5 psi at 6,000 ramping to 24.5 at 8,000, 13 degrees of timing and 11.7/11.8 afr trapped 174. So if nothing else I finally et'd a little better then last year and went 15mph faster.
