Default Safety harnesses

Which ones have people liked and disliked? Lever style or cam lock? Looking for a 5 point harness for my car. Cage just went in and getting all the safety stuff together.

Thanks

Cam lock are easier to get off quickly imo.

Stroud, good quality and they will recert them. Concato racing just became a dealer and has about the best prices I have seen anywhere

I've owned both styles....Levers suck, Cam style is the only way to go. I have the Stroud's as well!

Sweet. Thanks for the input. I will start looking around at the cam-lock setup. That seems to be the consensus everywhere.

Cam lock is nice and quick. If you street drive it go with the cam lock. You can leave the right shoulder and right lap belts connected for easy in and out. Just click left shoulder and waist strap. Sometimes I'll leave the crotch strap out and just go with 4 points

Cam lock is the nicest, and easiest to latchup. They are a bit more cost than the old school lever-latch type, but for a small fee you can send them in and have re-certified instead of the full replacement cost.

I too recommend Stroud Safety, MWC is a stocking dealer and we have great prices, usually lower than mail order.

Thanks Eric. I have spent a ton of money with you over the last 2 months on cage, parachute, etc. I guess I will give ya'll a call in a the next couple of weeks and order the harnesses. Do you know if Kevin was able to put the wiring diagram for ya'lls battery relocation/kill switch in the box?

Thanks

Andrew

I used to do lever but switched to Cam lock 2 years ago and just send it in to get re certified for the price of a new lever

We appreciate your business and you know we will get you taken care of on the new harness. It's the same stuff we use ourselves and USA made, can't go wrong!

You will have a diagram in the battery box kit for sure!

Where do you mount/bolt the lap belts on a fbody?

ANSWER: Factory seat belt locations if geometry works for seating position. Rocker panel on door side and floorpan near center console.

EDIT: took out factory belts a while back and forgot which threaded holes fit the mounting bolts.

I have used both for many years and I like the cam locks by far. Much easier to buckle and get out of quickly.
