Default Will E.T. streets hold??

I got an 01 hawk with a cam, stock heads, th400 w/brake and a 4500 stall which stalls up to like 5000 w/the brake...

I made 353rwhp and 380rwtq through the th400 which is pretty impressive for stock heads in my eyes...I put the et streets on to go drive with them and see what they were like...I was doing about 40mph and downshifted into 2nd and I shot the car sideways with 4 people in the car....

Are these going to hold at the track with a pretty good burnout and leaving off the brake at about 5000? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

On the cold street is totally different than being at the track. I have cut 1.5 60 fts on a 28" tall ET Street with no problems. They are a good tire. Im not sure how tall yours are, but a 26" tall tire might not be able to absorb the shock of the trans brake as well as a 28" would. Good luck.

I got 3.73's in the back so If I went with the 28" tires wouldn't it take some momentum away..?

Any ideas what kind of 60's I should get...

A 26" ET Street won't be enough tire. I'm spinning on every launch with the TP4400 and 4.10's. I usually get low 1.6X's, but have gotten a few 1.5X's.

Go with an ET Drag or Hoosier slick. There is nothing worse than poor traction.

Hmmm, I just bought these too, I am going to make a few passes on them and see how they are...after that, I am just going to take the tires off and sell them

I would wait to see what happens at the track.
The street and the track are completely different.
On some streets (on nittos) if I nail it in 3rd, it will rip the tires loose.
So wait and see. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

The "skinny" ET Streets (10.5's) are what I used for my sig time. Also got a 1.53 with them before that. They hook fine for most apps. Should be fine at the track with your power level.

Of course, slicks hook better, but Et Streets are more than enough traction for lots of guys running slicks...........

It's really is going to depend on the track. Some people hook well with nitto's. If your track is prepped well, you'll probably be fine. The 26X10.5X15 Et Street is only like 8.3" wide and 25.8" tall. I will say, they're alot better than drag radials.

My suspension is setup to hook and I still have had problems. Sometimes you just don't have enough tire.

H'Joe cut mid 1.4's two years ago hitting over a 200 shot out of the hole... I think you will do fine.

Yeah you will have a transbrake but I cut a 1.51 with a 4.10 and a hole lotta torque at US41.

IMO you need to just see what happens. You should try to get a feel for how to use slicks and do a burnout so that you can just concentrate on your runs.

Stacy Barnett just ran a 9.95 @ 143.xx this past Sunday on E.T. Streets. 26X11.50X16. This is a C5 that put down over 700RWHP on N2O and he was launching on the gas in a 6-speed.

You just have to know how to use these tires. P.S.I./ burnout/ launch..etc..

My answer is yes they should work. Stacey was cutting 1.48 60 ft's on these.

In an F-body on the t-brake I would use 28x11.50-15's.
