I've had Art Carr (the original), ATI, Yank, PTC, and PI converters for various applications. I went with a Yank PT4000 for my MS4 cammed LS1 Trans Am nearly a decade ago, and I couldn't be happier. 1.48/6.90/10.89 ET at 124mph at 3600lbs and ~440rwhp with a 3.73 gear. Drives great. Doesn't create unnecessary heat. Only 6% slip. It made a significant difference from the 3600 that was in it before from another company.

Edit: seems JL ws-6 didn't like my response to his garbage rant, so he edited it out. Thanks!

This one made me chuckle.

You can try to tell people it's as fast as it can be with whatever you're doing but I will put good money that it's not.

Put a good transmission in the car with a good n/a 8 inch converter and watch what it will do.

Leave the lockup in and with the converter technology that's out there, you will be able to go faster.
