Default porting super victor intake worth it?

I have a trick flow 245 headed 408 and a port matched super victor intake on it with accufab 4150 TB. makes 680hp on the engine dyno. car runs 10.50's on motor to the 1/4. I had a guy quote $800 to port the runners and plenum area. what kind of HP gains do you think I would see or what kind of ET drop could I expect? I honestly didn't think it was worth it at the time so I slapped it on the motor only port matched, But now I'm looking for more power.

Have you looked into stepping up to the MAST intake?

That would be the best option for flow. but also the most expensive option. I'm not ready to spend that much yet. Figured if i got more quotes on porting this and found somone to do it for maybe $500 and i could see a good 20hp or so I'd prolly do it. I'm unsure of what gains are even there to be had on porting my intake.

You could do it yourself. It is pretty hard to screw it up. All he is going to do is hit it with sanding cartridges. Looking to smooth out the casting roughness, not reshape anything. Honestly tho, the fuel is not going to be affected because it is entering at the end of the runners. I wouldn't think it would've worth more than 2 hp. I may be wrong tho? Our ls3 vic jr is carbed and I ported on it for about 5-6 hours. It is worth it because air and fuel are flowing through its its a carb.

I wouldn't pay anyone to port it, not worth the money for the little increase in hp.
Spend that money elsewhere. Or port it yourself.

What you are talking about is just a clean up job, not a port job.

There are a few that have the super vic down pretty good but they are in there with burrs making some big changes.

You will get more than 2 hp that I guarantee, and you'll spend a few hundred bucks to have it done.

10-15 hp I would expect

At 680fwhp I don't see the intake being much of a restriction. Do you index spark plugs, or have a vacuum pump? Those are fairly inexpensive things to do that gain efficiency. I am sure, if the thing is reshaped by someone who knows what they are doing, it will make more than 2 hp. I was only talking about a smoothing job. I just don't think it is worth it at your power level. Heck 150 shot is way cheaper. Lol

The Super Victor cathedral port that I had was very inconsistent port to port. It looked like it needed a lot of love to optimize it. With that said, I agree that it would likely be worth 10-15hp. Maybe pick up .5 - 1 MPH.

When I ported my Victor Jr cathedral port I picked up 1 MPH and I took out a bunch of material. This was on a car that wheel dyno'd 467 RWHP through a 4000 stall.
