OMG, weighed my car
My car, with me in it, with the passenger seat in it, and no back seat, no AC, skinnies, 15x10s and ET Streets out back, no AIR, plus iron block and 8 pt moly cage... 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gas....
3740 lbs!
I jumped off the scale, 3540 lbs w/o me!
We weighed my buddy's 97 V6 Firebird which has weight reduction... 3200 w/o him! 3370 with him!
So for Nineball and a few others who doubted the weight, I can get a certified slip from the place
Honestly I don't have much weight reduction done to my car....
!complete AC
!washer fluid
Skinnies with radials
15x10's with ET Streets
!back seat and seatbelts
!AIR pump and hoses
!front swaybar
!floormats
+ 6.0 iron block
+ 8 pt Alston moly cage
+ Moser 9"
I weighed my 99 Tahoe there too, 2WD, LS, it was 4880 w/o me.
your Moser,Block, and CAge is whats killin you. But then again, aren't there alot of guys that have a similar setup to yours that weight considerably less?
you got a few things removed. What kinda Battery? Dynabatt? Whatya weigh, around 200lbs? take the pass seat out, thats 30# right there
Your 11.1 aint too shabby now is it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
With the changes you have just made you have easy tens now, imagine if you had one of the lighter cars (raceweight of 3100 pounds) you would be low tens.

Keep in mind my car was 3410lbs stock. I'm at 3540 car weight now.
I knew it was bad but not this bad.
I have raced with the passenger seat, so I've gotten down to a svelte 3700 lb raceweight. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I have a stock battery in the car, but am going to buy a Dynabatt from a buddy. Even with the DIY weight reduction mods I can that are cheap I can only ditch 100-125 lbs, hardly seems worth it.

<strong>PSJ, I know most consider me to be a jerk and pedophile but why the iron block and a 9"?</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">9 inch is good for 2000 HP.
The iron block is for occasional nitrous usage, and it was a different way to get to 422 cubic inches.
I figure I added 200 lbs by doing the iron block, 8 pt cage and the Moser 9 inch.
I don't mind that I ditched AC, I never charged it back up a few years ago when we did heads and cam.
But I am thinking of putting the rear seat back in now. I think it looks ghetto.
I moved (w/ another guy) my moser and my stock rear.(both w/fluid)
one right after another. There is a BIG difference!
I didn't weigh them, so I could be wrong.
