You will need a helmet and long pants, no shorts. When you get there you will fill out a tech card and go thru tech inspection. I would recommend watching guys stage so you can see the staging procedure. When you stage roll in slow light the top bulb and take your time there is no rush to light second bulb. The biggest mistake I see is first timers rolling thru the beams. You have at least 9 seconds when 3 bulbs are on to stage. Also be careful this racing is addicting!

Roll through the water box, do not spin in water box.
MT DR's ? Just a small burnout is all you'll need...start to spin, first sign of smoke, roll out of burnout.
Pre-Stage...guys don't like when you stage first and double bulb them.
Wait for them to pre-stage, then just light the stage bulb...don't go in too deep.
Lights click down, last yellow go.
FYI, it take time to get it timed right, spinning ain't winning, I get my best 60's staging at 1000RPM and flashing the converter at launch.
I would watch a few passes before racing, see where the last timer is so you know where to let off, and the return road is on what side.

I courtesy stage, but never understood why it matters. But yeah everything above is good advice. Youll get the hang of it.

I always courtesy stage too but most guys at my track either don't know or don't care so I just try to focus on myself. That's what I think a big mistake is that your watching the other guy the whole time. I usually let them pre-stage first or at about the same time and then worry about myself after that. But I learned that from the style at my track too.

Like others said just watch first even before you tech in. You know the basics and you'll put it together quick. Good luck!

I don't believe street comps are a dr. And I was looking at my car the other day and noticed I have a screw in my front tire will I be able to pass tech with that ?

Yes, my mistake on the DR's....even more reason for a small burn out...GO AROUND water box and just a 3-4 second spin to knock off any dirt

And get the screw plugged...would really suck to get a flat at the track and have to ride home on a spare (if you have it with you). Racing would be done

I agree, you could also bring it to a tire shop and they will put a patch in the inside if ya want to be safe.

If ya ask me I would go get some radials before even going if your going to be running at the track now. The nt05r is a very good all around radial.

And like said go around the water box with a street tire. There is nothing worse than being next in line and some clown on street tires or a front wheel drive car dragging water everywhere.

I ran my car this past weekend and made 8 passes. On one of my passes there was some dork in a civic hatch back (FWD) and I was next in line behind him in that lane.
That was the ONLY pass I blew the tires off, the other 7 passes I dead hooked.

But in general bud just relax and dive in head first. You will have a blast.
Also if you want to get serious, when you are staging and have the first set of bulbs lit just barley trip the second set. This gives you about 6-8 inches of " non chargeable time " to get going lol if that makes sense....

Please plug your damn tire. Nobody wants a flat slick when you sling it out in the parking lot.

OK I will get the front tire fixed and this car is my daily driver so was just going to get some street tires cause I need new rear ones, my fronts still have like 85% left. I plan on buying a spare set of tires for just drag. But I am on my stock rear end still too.
