Second pass it went 10.38 on a 1.65, footed it to 2000 and rolled out and ran it out but lost the belt at 1000 mark and i coasted to a 129.
Third pass we added fuel and I went off the 'brake but broke the beams and went 10.33@135.97 but had I not broke the beams the car might have gone 9.99' or better.
Mike Hutto, I love you. I helped work on Hacker's car in 1999 and it went 10.81, and then Dave Purlee and Sean Freese were inspired and went 10.5 and 10.3 respectively, and now you are doing it to. Technically I am your daddy.

Haha.....Mike you gonna respond to that?

9s will be NO problem with the kind of power John's car is laying down. Talk now while you still can.
$1000 says John's car runs 9s this year. Any takers? Heck make it $10,000....or $10, I don't care.
The fact that PSJ came out and went 10.3x's on his shake down runs only means his car is going to be sick when its fully tuned.

Pass #1 was that easy 10.83. We had the FAST tuned with 20 degrees of timing. We decided I would shift at 6500. I did all that but it popped twice after the 2-3 shift so I let off. We did not get a FAST log it was my fault.
Pass #2 was a 10.38 on a 1.65 with 129mph, but lost the belt maybe at the 1000 mark. Car nosed over bigtime. Once I got on the return road I figured out I had lost the belt. We added 2 degrees of timing for a grand total of 22. FAST log did not work.
Pass #3, was a 10.33 @ 135.97 on a 1.58. As it turns out, I did not break the beams but I launched like off idle again. This was the first time I had ever used a 'brake. That's why the car went 105mph in the 1/8th but 136 on the big end. Car has no first gear to speak of since I did not build any boost. Got a log this time. We had added fuel for this run and we added too much. I had 10.5:1 AF @ WOT.
Plan is to:
-Take 10% of the fuel out of the MAP
-Eventually try to add in 2, maybe up to 4 more degrees of timing at WOT.
-Look at whether the belt is slipping.
-Use the 'brake for all passes
-Loosen front shocks from tight to loose - I had them at 10 tight for the first few passes
Car leaves straight as an arrow and I think that Spohn drag sway bar gets the nod for that.
We'll see what it does Friday nite.
It feels good to finally run 10's don't ya think?
I say PSJ will be in the 9's before the Thunder Shootout race. Maybe even this weekend.
Good luck this weekend.
