What not to do(and do) at the track
Went to the Saturday night T&T last night. I Usually go on Tuesday when it is less crowded and havent been on a busy Saturday in a while. Here is some things I Seen that drive me crazy.
Speeding through the staging lanes
Driving through the water box with street tires
Melting street tires in the burnout box
Doing a burnout and then launching the car to see if it sticks between the box and staging lights
Launch spinning ( on street tires) and doing a massive 1/8th mile burnout
Camping out in the lanes(track officials should have lit some people for this
What do you see that drives you crazy

Seeing people with slow *** cars doing a burnout in the water on street tires when I'm up next makes me VERY angry. Then they spin all the way down the track and drag there **** water with them and wreck water track prep is out there with there street tires!
I'm just like, welp here goes a wasted run for me

I love the guys who have plenty of power but cant seem to manage a proper burnout. Lots burn out in 1st which doesnt help at all. People who sleep at the light. I treat every pass as practice for reaction time. People who get back into it when their car is acting sketchy as hell down the track. Just abort.

I love the guys that run open headers on their 4 cylinder shitbox and do a huge burnout then run a 17 sec 1/4. Also the guys that like to purge their nitrous every 5 sec while their waiting in the staging lanes. OPEN HEADER ROTARY MOTORS SUCK!!

At my old track here they would have street tire days and would still use the water box and spray my tires even after asking them not to. I guess they thought street tires needed to be warmed up the same way as dr's. My best 60 foot there came one time when they didnt wet my damn tires.

fast cars that don't understand a race track is not the street.... never fails a Shelby mustang or something with 500-600hp spinning past half track sliding around like you can on the street then they finally find prepped track and immediately go where they are pointed when they hook which is straight into the wall causing an hour shutdown to clean up the babys tears from the wrecked 80k car - if you aren't hooked up by half track back out of it you idiots it isn't the street !

Tracks that can't "radial prep" and have to pull so much power out to go down the track.
I haven't been to a test and tune in a while though.
The lack of courtesy staging is my biggest pet peeve... between bracket cars and inexperienced drivers.

We travel all over, and its more common than you'd think. I was helping out a few friends at Milan a month ago for their import event..
Double bulb'd every time.. I guess I'm used to racing with people who have courtesy.

Im glad you said that. I courtesy stage because that's what I was taught, but why do we do it? Is there a disadvantage to the other driver if you go ahead and get staged all the way?

I know a turbo car in the other lane I light both immediately every time... Especially if we're on the 7 second auto start.
Curtosey is nice and all until there's $ involved.
Curtosey makes a guy hat has to build boost have a chance to get his car spooled up and have time to then bump
It into the 2nd light. Also guys with stick cars it's a little harder to get into the beans where they like so going at it slowly assists them.
I normally will adhere by this curtosey rule unless I'm in it for $ then if I can throw them off their game I will do it every time.
