Default ET improvement with 3.73s

My H/C package should be here soon. How much ET improvement can I really expect going with 3.73s over my 3.42s?? I dont want to go with 4.10s Do you tthink it is worth while? I have to wait on the 12 bolt til I scare up some more $$

Depends on the rest of your plans and time table. Probably not much improvement from 3.42 to 3.73, you might gain a tenth or two depending on all your mods and such. If you are really planning on doing a 12 bolt, just wait till then. You will be paying for the gears again anyway, why not spend the money on something else you need. Then again if you are going to wait awhile on the rear end, go ahead.

Is your car an A4 or M6. If it is an A4 I would go with the 3:73's with an stall converter such as vig, etc. The gas mileage is not that bad, I have the same combination about 22 MPG on the highway. If I go with the Moser 12 bolt one day, I am thinking about 4:10's. Not much comment on the M6 because I don't have one. They say the 4:10's are harder on the stock rearend on the M6, if you want more performance with this setup, get the 3:73's. To make M6 last longer, don't power shift. Hopes this helps. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

With the addition of the H/C and the 3.73's you see a significant drop in ET. I am an M6er. With the 3.42's I would cross the line at either off the rev limiter in 3rd or at 4600 in 4th. With the 3.73 (and no other change) cross the line in 4th at 5300-5400. Than I went with ET Streets 26x11.5x15. Drop the rmps a bit to 5200-530. So, you'll be able to get back into your power range better with 3.73's and there for better ET's. You may lose a little MPH but ET's are what wins any way.
