MSD 2 step. What to start at?

What should I set my MSD 2 step at for starters. 228R can 3200 stall. Thanks

Is this a 4L60 car? Without much information, and just assuming you don't have a transbrake, I would set the 2 step about 400 rpm below the converter flash point. As a start. Then just start moving it up 100rpm at a time, until it starts pushing the car through the brakes, and you can't hold the car still anymore.

Thanks. And yes. It's a 4L60e. (Red Eagle clutches, PowerPack, Raybestos pro Siri's band,shift kit) The converter is a SS3200 yank

I found I get my best 60's flashing my converter off the line Vs. trying to stall it.

No TB.

I never understood a 2-step without a tb.
Maybe I'm missing something.

Same principle as as trans brake, just floor it and let off the button when its go time. The limiting factor without a trans brake is the actual brakes though. If you know your car starts pushing through the brakes at 2300 then set the 2 step at 2100 and floor it. The bad part without a trans brake and trying to stall up the converter is it extends your suspension while coming up on the stall taking away that movement on the launch. None of 4th gens worked very good trying to leave up on the stall, they all worked they're best flashing it up from about 1500 all 4k plus stalls.
