two step and trans brake
Question. Th400 fti transbrake lnc 2000. On 2 step and trans brake all i can get is about 3000 rpm. Accidentally with out 2 step I can 3500. Would it be ok when the yellows start to drop to floor it without 2 step. Then release transbrake

You probably have the box set at 3000rpm for the two step. I'm pretty sure that's the default setting. And your converter is flashing to 3500 on the foot brake without the trans break. Are you using those chips that came with the box or, i guess I should have asked, what ignition box do you have?

You can leave against the converter on the transbrake, or you can 2 step it, or you can partially throttle it to whatever RPM you want, but that seems like more work.
If you turn the 2 step on and the transbrake and your RPMs are at 3000 when you mat the gas then your 2 step is set for 3000.
You will be fine flooring it when the top bulb comes on; you'll only be against the brake for ~1 second.
Hope this helps you out.

What kind of ignition box are you using?

Oh. I'm not familiar with that Lengenfelter box. They make good products so it has to be something simple. Sorry I couldn't help but I'm sure someone else will help you out.

Is this an N/A car? When my car was N/A, I didn't use a 2 step, I would just mash it on the transbrake. It would flash to 3600, stay there, and then launch when I let go of the button, I can't see you needing a 2 step, unless you are maybe using it to help with traction maybe?

It's a small shot nitrous car but I have it wired not to spray till transbrake is released. I guess I need to wire the two step to the brake pedal to help with foot brake launches instead

So when you turn the transbrake on and floor the gas what happens?
You should be against the converter and the RPMS that you are limited to there should be an indicator of your converter's stall speed.
I have a th400 with a brake, but don't use the brake right now. I have the MSD 2step and have a master switch that goes to a Reed switch (think security contact on a door in a house) that is on the brake pedal. When the master is turned on and I press the brake pedal enough to get the magnet close to the switch it activates the 2step.
Let me know if you want more details.

with the lingenfelter 2 step you will see around a 400 rpm drop from the set amount on the dials. i have tried 2 different boxes from them. Most of the guys in the CPS class have moved to the MSD 2 step as it seems more accurate. I still run the lingenfelter box, but just plan on it being off.
