Default 241 VS 317 Heads on a LQ9

HI guys . I have made more then a few threads lol. Im pulling my Ls1 do to a Spun Bearing and I got a Low miles LQ9 im refreshing with BTR stage 3 cam kit, lifters, timing chain, oil pump and bearings . I feel like the 241s would raise the compression a bit . I have both sets so this cost me nothing . I do not have money for 243s ,Wish I did.

Get the 317s shaved and run a .040 gasket. The 317s flow better.

How much does that cost normally and would they be better then stock 243s at that point ?

The 317s won't flow better than 243s but about the same.
Call your local machine shop. I have had it done for $50- $75 . You could have them shaved around .020 and run a .040 gasket and be fine. You still need to check ptv clearance.

DO you think that stage 3 BTR cam would have issues with those heads being shaved ?

I am not sure on that. It's a good to always check ptv clearance. You could check your ptv clearance before you shave your heads to see where your at . I would check after wards too. Whether you shave them or not I would still run the 317s and run a .040 gasket over running the 241s.
