Default Nitto 315 on WS6 Question??

Do you have to have an 11" rim to run 315's or can I just use my stock WS6 rims?

Also, how many miles can I expect to see from them if they are used for everday driving?

The stock wheels are only 9 inches wide. I think 1 of the very few people who did this was T.Bryne with a 9.5 inch wheel. Not worth it IMO. The tire is going to really bulge in the middle and the sides. Your going to get less life out of it just as far as it really being on an undersized rim. I would try and save up for an 11 inch rim.

As far as the Nitto's life expectancy for a drag radial. It really depends on your style of driving. The fastest I read was 5000 miles with a lot of street burn outs. The most miles I've heard of is 20,000 miles. That was probably for the most part grandma style driving. I have them on my car and if I get 15,000 miles I feel I got my money'd worth FWIW.

Sadly, 315's are too wide for the stock 17x9's and look very ghetto. It would be great if a shop widened stock rims to 17x10 or 17x11 I think they would be very popular.

I have heard of welding shops doing thar before. But personally that would scare the hell out of me. What would happen if the welder sucked? I know, your wheel would fly apart during driving... OUCH!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

So, I guess I should go with 275's for now. They are cheaper anyways, and I am not ready to purchase wider wheel's. 275's should fit fine on my stock WS6 wheel... Right?

Also, I was thinking of going with the Nitto 275 555 ZR's (regular Z rated street tires) for the front. Has anyone ever heard anything good/bad about them. What do you guy's think?

I ran 315's on 17x 11 ZR1's. I love them!

That is the stock size for WS6, Firehawk, and SS models.

Yup, you need 11 inch rims for the 315s. IF you try to run it on something smaller, you are going to have traction issues due to the tire bulging distorting the tread contact area.

As it is, they are good *street* tires, but not what you are going to want to launch on at the track.
