I'm currently running some old 26x8.5x15 ET Drags. They seem to work good but I want to get a DOT tire next. I'm leaning toward the 275-50-15 BFG DR's. Would these hook as good as the Hoosier QTP's (26x9x15 I think)?

Mostly the best tire will be a Mickey Thompson or Hossier Slick. I am not knowledgeable enought recommend tire size at the time. I always call Summit Racing and get assistance from the technical section. I hope this helps and maybe someone else can add to this.

You want to know on the best DOT tire right? Best out there would be IMO ET Streets. With a Conv Pro 15x7.5 the 26x10.5x15 should fit. It will be tight but should work. The BFG DR is a good tire, but no where close to the ET Street. The other question would be: are you going to be driving on the street with these tires? ET Streets are not much of a street tire, but hell at the track; BFG are very good at the track, but not good if it rains; Nittos are ok at the track and street.
Your choice. You need to deide what you are going to use them for.

Hoosier makes a few DOT's for this wheel size...Both the 26x9.5x15 and the 27x10.5x15 Quick Time Pro will work well.

Drag radials will not hook as good as the other tires mentioned here.
I'd say that a tire that is truly about 9" wide will fit best and will not cup.
