Default Lunati cam anyone useing this 1 ?

HI

I found a deal on a BTR Platinum duel spring kit and this cam-http://www.ebay.com/itm/LUNATI-VOODOO-20540718-GM-LS-LS1-LS2-4-8-5-3-5-7-6-0-CAMSHAFT-651-651-LIFT-/191549505071?hash=item2c993d7e2f:g:jAoAAOSwv0tVHC7 C&vxp=mtr

Just wondering if anyone is using it. its going in a 0 miles ls1 , with 241 heads that btr kit and new rockers and lifters , with a 3200 rpm stalled built trans , doing headers soon but will be on 02 manifolds. Lunati said it will work fine, just wanted to hear what you guys think . Also has stock ls6 intake .

We had that cam. Don't believe what lunati tells you on the springs. We had the best lunati hydraulic lifters available from them, that were actually morels. Got springs suggested by them. 70 miles of break in and the first hit only to 6800 rpm. Floated the valves. Snapped number one intake valve off and sent it through the head. The ptv was right on the money. Do yourself a huge favor. Call Cam Motion or Martin Smallwood and have them spec you out a custom cam. Same money. And if your going hydraulic rollor, then get Johnson lifters. I would just go solids though. Imo

That's a big cam. If lunati told you to use that cam with your combo. They are ate up. Again, call cam motion or Martin Smallwood. Or there are several other people on this site that will hook you up. And you will be very happy you did. I cannot stress this enough. Because 6800 ain't ****. Why take the chance. You will end up going higher. Everyone does. First car that beats you by a fender and guess what. You going to turn it up.

If it's too good to be true. It probably is. Sometimes a deal is not to your best interest. Just by the fact the guy suggested that cam to you. I would go elsewhere. Because it sure seems like he is just trying to make a sale. Again, call one of those guys. It will be well worth it. At the very least, it will be right. Prolly not much more coin either. Just so you know. We had that cam in a 408 stroker with 14:1 compression. Are you even close to that? If not, you can clearly see it's not for you. Make the Call. I'm out.

The Voodoo cams are old technology, call Martin Smallwood or BTR.
