Another new best at Super Chevy!
Here's the first pass:
RT: .500
60': 1.588
330': 4.683
1/8: 7.342
MPH: 91.84
1,000': 9.663
1/4 ET: 11.634
MPH: 114.06
D.A.: 1,102'
I backed it up with an 11.67 @ 114 MPH on a 1.60 60' a few hours later. I redlit with a .499 on that pass. I've been killer on the lights today, but I'm going to back it off a bit for eliminations tomorrow. I can easily go a few rounds with solid .540-.550 lights. I'll start pushing it more as I advance.
The shift points are at 6,550 on the 1-2 and 6,800 on the 2-3. Ed got me another degree of timing at WOT for a total of 26.5 degrees. The photo guys got an awesome shot of me pulling the wheels on the first pass, so I had to buy a big picture of it. I was hoping they could put it on a disk as well, but they don't have the ability yet...oh well.
The car is a blast to run. I get a ton of questions on if it's a stroker, nitrous, etc. One guy asked me if I had the LT4 Hotcam installed. LOL! I told him I'd have to get an LT1 first. The car really gets attention since it's running much quicker than people think it should. I'm also enjoying smacking down a few drag cars.
The weather is supposed to be in the 70's again tomorrow; hopefully the wind will die down. We were running against a 10-15 MPH direct headwind all day. I would really like to see some high 11.50's tomorrow morning. I guess we'll find out.

Sounds like you got the car working good!
Good luck tomorrow!

Great reaction times. I disagree about backing off on the lights. You are on man. You need to adjust the Hot Rod just a little. Just my 2 cents
Go kick some major *** in elim. tomorrow
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Are you planning on coming to Super Chevy at HRP in September?
Get EW to get your 1-2 shift at 6800. You need that one as high, or higher than the 2-3 since, it has the bigger gear drop.
SIX HOURS LATER, I finally get to run the next round. It was the 1st round winners and the buyback winners. I ran a kid that was really on his game! I dialed an 11.65, and he dialed a 14.13. He was in a late 70's Camaro. I was in the right lane on the first pass and the left lane on this pass. We both do our burnouts and pull to the line. We're both staged, and I kick it up to 2,200 RPM's like I've been doing. He gets first light, and I sit there anxiously waiting for my turn! 2.5 seconds doesn't sound like a lot until you're sitting on the line! The tree drops, and I nail it on the third yellow. I was shocked to feel the car spin! It spun to a 1.638 60'. It doesn't sound like much, but the car had another high 1.5 60' in it. It spun THAT bad! I knew I was screwed as soon as that happened. I'm charging hard towards the other Camaro, but it wasn't enough. He dumps it just before the traps, and he takes the win. Believe it or not, the race came down to RT. I was sleeping on the tree bad with a .595 light to his .536. I ran an 11.667 on my 65 dial, and he ran a 14.153 on his 14.13 dial. My MPH was 116.15! I nearly fell out of the car. My laptop was screwed yesterday, so I couldn't ATap to see if I was getting some KR on the 1st pass. The car got to completely cool before the 2nd pass, and I was trying my hardest to build some heat in the staging lanes. I could've had a high 11.5-second pass if I had managed another 1.58 60' time.
The weekend turned out to be excellent. We couldn't have asked for better racing weather, I got my wheels-up pic, and I managed to set a new best. In drag racing, you win some and usually lose a lot more, so I just take it in stride. I'm going to put a few gallons of race gas in the next time I go out and see what ATap says. When I ran it yesterday, I got some KR in 2nd gear but it was gone by the top of 2nd for the rest of the run. I would really like to see the 116 MPH again with a full-stick launch. 11.4's will be a walk in the park this fall. Who needs heads anyways?
Jason - After seeing how well the car runs with the stock heads, I think I'm going to stick with them for a while. I'm not ready to add more power just to destroy a transmission and 10-bolt. LOL
Joel - I agree with you. What I find interesting is that the RPM's drop to the same point (just above 5,700 RPM) on the 1-2 shift as it does on the 2-3 shift. Have I mentioned that this Yank PT4400 converter rocks?
Miller - I would like to make it down for the SCS at HRP in September, but I'll have to see what's going on at that point. It would be fun at HRP.
Coach - I backed off enough the first round, but the 2nd round I just got treed, plain and simple. If racing were easy, everyone would be doing it, right? I'm still pleased with the overall consistency of my RT's. They're getting better and better with each trip. You have to have a skewed value every once in a while. LOL
Nick - Were you in your T/A? I obviously wasn't paying attention and was talking too much.
I managed to get stuck in the mud on Friday afternoon due to all of the rain! They pointed me to the field, and we tried to find the dryest spot. Well, it was still muddy enough to require a chain under the rear tires of my truck, and even then we barely got it out. After cleaning a day on my SS, I managed to undo ALL of that by slinging mud ALL OVER the nose and down the pass. side of the car. I had a few choice words for the muddy field. I ended up making my own spot on pavement by the port-a-potties. It only smelled when they cleaned them out, but it was at least on dry ground!
I was going to give you a call to see how things were going, but I guess I lost your number.
ps. The GTP is slow!
I entered the complete timeslip in the original post for those interested. Just an FYI.

Nothing like waiting 6 hours to run and the track sucks - even after they clean and treat it FIFTEEN TIMES!!!
