Default Run consistency with turbo

My son and I bracket race a 3rd Gen Camaro that's been back halved. Running a 408 forged short block with stock 317 heads, LS6 intake, and a 76MM Precision turbo at 13 pounds of boost. This past weekend we made 4 passes between 9.209 - 9.232. Wondering what other turbo guys experiences are. To some of the locals with a standard NA carburetor motor, that's a huge range.

Yea, I was a bracket racer too in Top Dragster, now I drive a no prep turbo S10. Its definitely not as consistent. The spool psi at launch will vary a bit, its near impossible to be within .5 to 1 psi from launch to launch and thats a hp difference. But your times are pretty good really. I dont know anyone that runs then with a dial in car.

Just run no prep / grudge events and have fun.

A 2 step will set the RPM (and boost) the same every run.

A bump box isn't going to give you consistent staging, hence your rt is gonna be all over the place. I'm looking to go procharged for bracket.

True, a bump box doesnt make it perfect but it helps. The issue is your boost level at launch. I normally leave at about 13.5 psi. On a test the other night I let it spool an extra couple of seconds and left at 20 psi. 60ft went from 1.35 to 1.16. So it makes a big difference. Thats the hard part to control, the boost levels.
