Awesome work! Be sure to put some chicken wire over it so you don't inhale any animals or small children.

I like the look of the cram air in the front of the car. One thing though to think of if it is too much drag if you make the hole smaller and keep the back side larger that you will actually create a low pressure area inside and suck the air in more. The one thing that you might get in with this is there will be so much air that it will create turbulance and block some of the air going in since the hole that you are trying to get it all to go into is only 4" from i am looking at 10x10 or whatever. Just some thinking outloud though. I really like the look of the nose though

That is badass Larry! Very creative, and time consuming by the looks of it. I'd like to see how she does at the track.

Peace,
Craig.

It's coming together quite well.

Got the front fascia back from the paint shop, reinstalled, and doing the finish up work.

doesn't look so ominous here.

pop off the hood and "holy super shlongs batman!"... "Avert your eyes young Robin!"

Oh my...

Uses stock size filter, any kind of aftermarket lid, The tubing is mandrel bent aluminum...and weighs a total of ounces.

Next up is getting the fabbed pipe welded, coated, a little wiring, and custom grille.

Looks good Larry!!!
From the looks of that aluminum tube I didn't think the hood would close, but I guess it does.
You could prolly sell these kits, or get a patent on it.

Peace,
Craig.

That is some great ingenuity.

You should buff the alum. pipe. Make that puppy shine.

Damn, looks like a FI induction tube.

Any thought of wrapping the tube to eliminate heat soak when the car is idleing (e.g. when waiting to stage)?

Very cool! You should probably leave the screen in or your MAF will get some funky readings and you'll end up running real rich(most likely) or lean... The curves in the tubing is the problem.

Newer Mustang GT's have this problem when you add a 'cold air' kit and add bends in front of the MAF. Causes a very rich condition. Someone might have already mentioned this, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Good luck with it!

Thanks guys,

Thats an awsome link Nassty!

Mightymouse the whole latch assembly was removed when I went to the lift-off hood months ago. That big open whole was just begging for me to put something there I'll try to get a better pic for you. There is a composite brace that the front fascia bolts too on the top...thats still in place, just modified.

Chris we hope to be testing it soon...If I don't like, I'll probably, make my own fiberglass hood, and functional scoop...**** me and dad may do this anyway.

Ragtop...I have a very good source for the metal heat reflective "space blanket" material. I was thinking about using that stuff...its ultra lightweight, and a very good heat reflector.

Dave I need to bring it by when I get it finished!

Lane thats a good tip man. That gives me a good starting point if I experience that condition.

Larry

I think it might work really well, but I would autotap like crazy to see how it affects the AF ratio... might lean you out like crazy...
