Terry, you commented that you were around 3300 lbs raceweight. No A/C, no stock water pump, removed interior pieces, etc...

not even close to my setup.

BTW, "running thru a muffler" is not a big deal when you are saying "street trim". I also have a pair of bullets that I can bolt onto my open headers that I used for Bowling Green. That knocks almost 60# off my car and I'm still "running thru mufflers". But, no way in hell I'd drive it like that on the street.

Oh yeah, and I have to drive my car. Takes a whole lot more skill than your slushbox ghetto queen <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Any idiot can do it. Driving any car that hooks is EASY. Driving cars that don't hook and getting a decent ET is where all the skill is. I like how people think its harder to drive a 6spd car in to the 9s or 10s than in to the 13s. It's still three shifts guys. It's no more complicated than running 13s.

I'm mostly libertarian, not your average Californian. I hate beer and Texas women though, I'll take Vodka and California women any day.

Thanks, it's a white 2001. I had MMS do the tuning and they did a great job.

I was talking to some guy with a red formula that has a mms built and tuned stroker. He only went 92 in the 1/8th. He said it was his first run and only pulled a 2.1 60ft. spinning thru first. He said MMS can tune mine. But if its as slow as that one i dont know. Its a 418 MTI built shortblock. I only went 90mph in 1/8. Whats up with that

I know the guy you're refering too. He put out 480rwhp, but his car needs a lot more tuning work done, and some tire. You should put some slicks on yours too, I'm sure MPH will come up with traction.

Maybe Tony can help you with the low mph problem, I don't know much about what goes in those 418mti motors. Which heads/cam/tuning do you have? What headers/exhaust? Auto or stick?

I purchased the short block used(3700) off camaroz28.com. Its either a 412,416 or 418. My car is a 6spd with 410 gears. I have drag radial but was having a hard time hooking with those. My best 60ft was a 1.92. Custom tuning from tbyrnemotorsports.com. Ill look into MMS. My car put down 430 to the rear wheels. But torque was up to 485. I can see why people are jealous. You are making that power with just heads, cam and tuning. Thats awesome. Will yours hold up to nitrous at all? Thanks again.

Heads are actually MMS stage 2. used and purchased off ebay some time ago. Long tube headers with homemade cat back. Hopefully all i need is a little tuning to wake this thing up. I have a 250 direct port shot hooked up but am waiting for the money to use it...incase it grenades.

I did put on a ls6 intake maifold and ported throttle body with no other computer tuning. but i doubt my car would be running this slow.

The first thing you should do is have MMS put the car on their dyno and spend an hour looking at your AF ratio, maybe playing around with a maf translator to see where you stand. Depending on the results I can make suggestions, but a cam swap might make a big difference. As would a little more headwork.
