Default Slicks and cage

I'm preping the truck for slicks and wondering if stock open end lug nuts will be fine or does the rule for stud thickness vs thread into hex of nut still apply.
also courius what does nhra consider altered firewall?
might be noob questions but I haven't found an answer yet and don't want to make the long haul to the track to get turn down

Have to change the wheel studs to at least extended and ARP (or equivalent).

If you're going to be making decent power, the change to 5/8" studs, would be a well advised change.
