Default Racing Sunday!

Weather should be in the mid 60s and it looks like they are going to prep the track well (Carlsbad Raceway). I've got the car loaded up and ready to roll. I even had my muffler put on a flange so I can drop it at the track. I'm planning on taking a couple dial in runs Saturday (TNT, track is never prepped), and then going for 10s on Sunday morning. If I can't hit 10s on Sunday **** is going to start flying off the car until I do (IE hatch, cage, hood, etc is coming out!).

I'm bringing lots of duct tape with me and even going to put race gas in the car! Wish me luck…

(If I can get a 60' anywhere in the 1.5s I'll be there)

One question
Why do u need race gas in a street car?
Are u running more CR NOW?

Good luck shooting for the 10's

CR is the same (11.3:1). 91 octane seems to work OK but maybe the race gas will help a bit? The rest of you guys use 93 octane so why shouldn't I?

Good luck bro and the car will respond better with race gas especially with your higer cr.I wouldnt run less than 104.You will get it you have worked hard for it and now it will all pay off and then you will silence the critics about how slow your car is.

Good luck, Terry. You'd better run 10's. All you need is traction.
That will shut the critics up.

Same old same old are Carlsbad today. Poor traction and 1200'+ DA's. I ran a new best though:

60': 1.59
1/8th: 7.028
MPH: 97.90
1/4: 11.023
MPH: 122.94

On another ran I got over 123mph, all this with an unlocked TP4400! I was really wishing I had done the P/S bypass on that 11.02 run.

I'm going to head back tommorow morning for
2-3 more passes. They say the track hooks really well on these Sunday outlaw events.

Not too bad Terry
U should get that 10 Sec slip real soon.

What the elevation at Carlsbad by the way?
I need some info concerning your Kmember install too.

I got the a-arms as close as I culd but the left front tire is still 1/4in farther forward than the right. It also wanders alittle more on the hwy at speeds about 65 but under WOT blasts if very stable.Any pointers or opinions?

I'm trying to ask u for info and not start any BS
How about finally leaving me outta all the discussion,Huh?

Good luck tommorrow.

Carlsbad sits at ~300' elevation. Weather.com said temps would be in the mid 60s today but they were in the mid 70s at the track. =/

RE: The Kmember, I just got mine as close as I could using a tape measure and drove it to an alingment shop. There are adjustment points on the aarms if you are really off, otherwise you just use the stock alignment adjusters to slide things around. If the alignment isn't perfect I wouldn't race it. If you get air it might shoot off sideways when it comes down.

Yea its close but IMO not perfect.Jay got it as close as he could but he'll admit he's not an alignment guy.I'm gonna let my buddy Dale align it and do the final settings.I cant believe how light the front end feels now?

By the way u were in PLUS 1300 feet not 1200.
So I would think u should run 10's tommorrow if u can hook her up.

From what I understand the 5.3 head is the one to run.I would stick with it and just port it alittle more, bump the CR up.

LS6 heads r nice but I dont think u need them on a 346.It was big ***** syndrome that made me by them

Again lets put the BS aside Terry.
If u wanna kid me thats one thing but I really dont like the insulting remarks and half truths about my cars setup. If u drove it u would have a different opinion that I'm sure of.It flat out scoots.

All I ask is u give me a chance to prove the cars got a 10?? in it.

I'm working all the bugs outta the sups.,shift points and last weight-loss mods.It seems to me the more power u make the harder it is to harness?

Plus I'm trying to hit that magic number of 330lbs.I gotta lose 4 more to get there and then my next goal is 299.

Thanx
JS

You'll make it. I swear Carlsbad is downhill. Congrats on the new times. I can't go any faster for SuperStreet so I'm stuck at 11.00 dial ins for now. I guess I could sandbag.

Are you running 26's or 28's now? I ran last night in 2500+ft. DA's with a complete interior and through the SLP exaust and ran 11.20's all night with spinning 1.56 60ft's. I'm pretty happy being able to drive it to the track and run like that.

Hurry up and beat my 10.89 so I'm motivated to get back in the game.
