Not another 10 second heads/cam car???

Re: Not another 10 second heads/cam car???
Very nice Terry, it's about time! I especially like the fact that you drove the car there! I bet the 12 second cars at the track that came in on trailers felt a little bit embaressed!

Re: Not another 10 second heads/cam car???
Congrats on the new best Terry! I think its cool that you have dropped almost a full second in ET with the same engine setup. High 11s to high 10s.
You are probably the only heads/cam in the 10s without a rollcage too

Re: Not another 10 second heads/cam car???
Terry, good run, but do you have a second time slip to back it up?? How do we know it wasn't just luck, or a faulty light?? Good run man.. Did you have to pull any more weight out?

Nice numbers from project F-Houston Terry. 10s feel great! You've gone very far very fast. Looks like you have an F-body you might keep for a while, LOL!

Terry, while you were out racing (great slip, BTW) I was defending you and MMS for reasons unbeknownst to you (and me). See the Internal sec.
Anyway, congrats on the 10 sec slip. Wasn't that a blast to pick that slip up??
Good job, Terry.
"I’m willing to bet I have the only 10 second h/c cam with functional power steering. I drove the car to and from the track, 2 hours each way."
Sorry to say you're wrong about that. I drove 2 1/2 hours home from the track the night I got my 10's. Power steering fully funtional.
Anyway, congrats again. It was never a question for me......

Re: Not another 10 second heads/cam car???
ONYXSS glad I'm not the only one who thinks power steering is important!
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I have a bolt in wolfe 5-pt cage. On my last 6.95 run I was at 3340# race weight. For the runs this weekend I added the light weight carpet (30#) and !muffler at the track (15#).
I took two runs today, the first was 10.99@122.5 (1.56 60') and then 3 min later ran the 10.98@122.2. The track definitely hooked better today than yesterday. On the way home I was stuck in traffic so I had plenty of time to think about my next tweaks to the car.
BTW where are all the guys that don't believe a 6.9 1/8th mile = 10 second potential?

Re: Not another 10 second heads/cam car???
Congrats Terry!
It must feel good to be the 2nd West Coast Car in the 10's NA. I think this fall we'll show HOUSTON what's up. You probably won't see too many more days at Carlsbad at 66 degrees. You better add ALOT more power to get by my 10.89. When I think you're getting close, I'll just head over to Sacramento and raise the bar.
My next goal is 10's through a stock SS catback (SLP20TL). Just for a point of comparison, how come I MPH 121 at 2500ft DA's through the exaust and you're going 122's at sea level, uncapped, downhill? And my best is 125.0 MPH at 1500ft DA? What are you working on to close the gap???
BTW, I think your RACEWEIGHT is BS! Everytime you go to the track you've lightened it up some more, and you're still at 3300lbs. Do you still have the AC or have I made you toss it yet?
Powersteering? Wow you have 15 more lbs than some of us. It's not like you don't run a shortbelt anyway.
Where is my new J1 Cam?
If you think you can, think again!

I've never been at 3300# before. My best MPH is 123, unlocked converter. Re: Not another 10 second heads/cam car???
There u go again breaking my *****
Thats okay I can take it.
I'm suprized u wanna run with the PS
After doing the Kmember and Aarms its not nearly as bad as when I had the stock stuff controlling the front end.But I agree I'm gonna hook mine back up too.
The PS cooler, bracket, and line are gonna go bye bye.Its 4.8lbs which isnt too bad and u still keep your PS intact.
its gonna be hard to beat Jan Terry.
He's right,I dont think your gonna see that weather for a long time. But u never know.
The Da was about +1100 so u still have something left on the table.Keep plugging away.

Re: Not another 10 second heads/cam car???
3075? I can't say for sure, but I doubt you're closing in on me. As light as it is now, I've got 150lbs coming off later this year, possibly 200+ if I change to light weight brakes. 10.50's with the stock shortblock will be a cinch. Have you seen the pictures of my !headlight track mod? I made a bracket for the headlight covers that covers the holes and you can't even tell they're gone.
I don't know the size of the short-belt with the meziere, just use your longer one to measure and guestimate, that's what I did.
I'm getting ready to try some 28X10X15 Hoosiers. Are you still using the 26's or 28's?
How are you going to gain 20RWHP?
As long as I don't have a Summit points race that weekend, I'll head out to Sac anytime. I might try and make a trip this month just for fun and see how much quicker I am over my home track. We don't spray VHT and the air always sucks. They even let the imports/street tired cars run through the waterbox.
I'll weigh the car in the next couple days in street form and extrapolate from there. It should be very entertaining.
