You're 10#s off on the rotors, but its easy to see the 40# weight savings. Someone has to have tried it on the street and warped a rotor (or not). It's VERY tempting to save 40# though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I think I'll lighten it up a little more, try some 28" Hoosiers, and try to make a trip down to Sacramento...80ft elevation....and then of course the new cam will be going in. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I don't know about having most of my car together though, that's a little stretching it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Replacement rotors are something like $90 bucks if you do warp them. Once I get back together I'll try it for the first set but I'm a little different than most people <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

So how does the rotor/hub stick on the spindle? Never taken apart front brakes before. Can I do the cuts with a sawzaw wo/ removing the steering link?

 

Mike is pretty busy right now so my new heads/cam R&D is on hold for a bit. I'm at 3300# right now, my plan to get down to 3200# is hood (35#), aerospace street brakes (25#), ds2 fronts (12#) and 12" extensions (30#). That with the short belt and a mid 1.4 60' time would get me in the 10.79 range under ideal conditions.

Then when the new heads/cam come in I hope to knock another .2ths off that, to get in to the pepper killer range. I might add a lightweight hatch at that point also. Then down the road I'll throw the 388 motor in there and see what I can do with that.

I run EASY 11.20's all day in street trim through a stock SS catback. We'll let science do the talking.
