Where do subframe down bars go?
I am having my cage installed this week and I was wondering something...
I bought a weld-in cromoly Wolfe cage. The cage came with the main hoop, 2 bars that run to the rear, the door bars, the cross bar, and 2 smaller bars (I assume these are the subframe down bars).
The cage will be an 8pt. with the subframe down bars...but where do these go? Do they go from the main hoop to another spot on the floor?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Where do subframe down bars go?
There are two different types of down bars. Some go directly down off the crossbrace on the main hoop and some come off of the hoop themselves at about a 45 degree angle toward the center of the car. I hope I'm describing this right. Check out a 8 pt from S&W racecars or something to see what I'm talking about on the last example. www.swracecars.com

I have a custom 8pt.
My bars come of the main hoop at 45* and then go through the floor-board (yep, cut and welded through) and tie right in to the back of my sub-frame connectors. IMO, the best way to do it. Max strength and rigidity.
