What would cause Car A to run faster than Car B?
A) 1.74 60 - 12.11 @ 113.35
B) 1.79 60 - 12.33 @ 114
A) .05 better in the 60
.22 faster ET on top
.65 slower MPH <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
I know, car A stepped on the breaks. Nope he didn't.. What other reasons could cause it?

Generally, the faster the 60' time on a car--the faster the ET. I know it is frustrating if your MPH on a car is faster than another car--but yet the other car wins. But to run a fast ET period, you have got to get the 60' time down. Also, the shift points of a car can affect the ET, if a car shifts sooner than the peak horsepower/torque, etc., this will affect the outcome. Also, if a car weights <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" /> less than another car with equal power, then the lighter car will win the race. These are just a few suggestions to explain what happen. I hope this helps and maybe somebody else can explained it better. Kent.

Car A is making better use of the powerband. The right gearing/converter combo can play huge here... Like Kent said, shift points, weight, etc. will have effects too.

Car A being me and Car B being Terry Burger, it's obvious who's going to win. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
You can also spin past the 60' mark. A .10 in the 60' often amounts to .15 in the 1/4. And in some cases, especially if the car is undergeared, a little spinning can result in more MPH by getting the car in the powerband faster.

Car A: Auto and heavier (00 Z28)
Car B: 5 speed Lighter (300Z)
Confusing issues for me so please correct me if I am wrong..
.1 in 60 = aprox .15 on top end.. So 1.74 to a 1.79 = aprox +.075 on the top end with equal mph for Car B..
1mph = aprox .1 in the 1/4.. So +.65 mph = -.065 for Car B
With the above:
A 12.11 of car A
+ .075 (result of the 60)
- .065 (result of the mph)
= 12.12.. I know it is not an exact science like that, But I am trying to see where the extra .21 was for car B..

Look at your short track times ... bet you car A is faster in MPH as well as ET on the short half of the track ... Car B is playing catch up at the tall end of the track.

Run 1 is 3.23 gears, Run 2 is 3.73 gears. The difference was at half track Run 1 was 87.2. Run 2 85.9
