10.70 Street Car
Well after chasing ET's for 2 years I thought I would give some street time a try. It's still an A-4 but a manual valve body and it also has a spool. I thought it would be pretty crude but it really wasn't too bad. I put a good 3 hours on it last weekend and it never missed a beat. Maybe not the fastest Factory Stock car right now but it sure was fun to drive it for a couple days and have people look at me like I was crazy.
ARE is still good in my book
Now lets see those new Thunder and LS1 Tech rules for F/S

we all know that "factory" class cars havent been true street cars in years. atleast the competitive ones. slaping on a tag or taking it out on a parade once a year doesnt make it a street car. all subjective i guess. but it is great to know that you can drive 3 hours without a road crew following you.

that's what i love about my car.
11.20's at 123 all day long and i'll drive it anywhere. drove it over 200 miles round trip to north vs south
i prolly put 150 miles on it over the holiday weekend dicking around from party to party. gets over 20 mpg on the highway all day long
we sprayed it with a small shot two weeks ago and results were VERY promising. when i post my spray times with the right kit on it and drive it anywhere i want, then it should be pretty impressive for a true street car

Yep its awesome. I am running 11.43@123.79mph now on a street legal tire. Drive to the track, race and drive home. When I tweak the suspension a little more I'm shooting for 11.1s@125mph.

I'd drive my Nova more except work is 80 mile round trip and getting 13 mpg sucks with the gas prices we have now-a-days! Mine gets driven 1-2 times a week, as well as to the track every Saturday, change tires and race. I even ran it on the cheap 275/60/15 radials once and got an 11.71 at 116 with a 1.79 60 foot The new exhaust added even more weight, so I'm now up to 3480 lbs with driver

drive mine every day provided it's not in pieces, or raining outside. 11.60's @ 124 without adjusting ANYTHING on the car- drive 45 miles to the track, go to staging lanes and hit it. No trailer, no tools. Full interior and A/C. Shooting for 10's before july is over.

that is really what i am going for with my conversion. i want to make the car able to drive the hour each way to atco and click off serious ets and drive home. the thirdgen has a huge weight advantage over teh 4th gens, so the motor will be much more street friendly and stil capable. all i really want/need in the car is a heater(really just front defroster) and normal runnign gear for it to be perfectly enjoyable to me.

This is kind of a funny post..
Last night I get a call from my brother, hey lets go to the track. A friend has my trailer, so I thought, hell I'll just drive it the 35 miles and have some fun..
I had the QTP's on it, drove over lowered air pressure in the tires, ran a 11.1's @ 124.. raised the air pressure, went home..
Now If I would have taken the ET drags, I think it would have bottomed out in the 11.0's.. best 60ft was a 1.66..
I was just real happy to drive there, and have some fun..

This is why we should have different classes at some of the LS1tech events.
For us guys that acturally drive the cars, so we dont have to race the other guys/gals that only drive their cars at the track.
I trailor my car to the track because I run a full slick and because I dont feel like making a VERY long night if I break down.
However I drive the car 3-5 times per week as long as it is running and not raining real hard.
Soft rain is no problem but hard rain worry's me b/c of the old people here in Florida.
