First pass on ET Streets Last night was my first pass with my new 26x10.5x16 ET STREETS! Didn't really know what to expect for the SS on slicks. Our track doesn't do any glueing or prep on WED. nights, but oh well. I did my John Force style burnout(tires were new, and I was told to heat them really well the first time). Pull up to line, and bring the rpms up to 4500 and I dumped the clutch on 3rd yellow light. The car hooked(according to my buds on the sidelines I had full extension on the front wheels), I floored the pas and then the cars got really squirlly. Even the announcer said it on the PA, that I was getting really squirlly. The SS was cocked to the left, enough where the front end was about 45 degree angle from the wall (looked like this /| ),slammed second and it swerved a bit to the other side \| . The it got straight 12.5@ 111mph with a 1.8 60ft. Second pass was the first round of bracket eliminations. Since I only got 1 time trial, I had no idea what to dial in at, so I dialed in at 12.25. I was pitted against a 2001 WS6 A4 who had ran 3 consecutive 13.4s at like 107mph. I do my burnout and stage. This time I launch at 5000rpm. He dialed in at 13.4 and launched. I launched 1.15 second later. Dump the clutch and I am off. I PASSED HIM JUST PAST THE 60FT. I knew I had an awesome run going and didn't care if I broke out or not. Car ran straight as a arrow. I am way past him. I shift to third and damn I shifted to fifth(first time for everything, I guess). Took me a second or two to figure out what happened. I shift back to third at run a 12.9@106 with a 1.7 60ft. All in all it was fun. I think that second pass could have been a 12.00 or better. Considering I was only a bit past half track when I mis-shifted. I crossed the line at 6200 in third. Big difference running 1.7 60ft to a 2.2 60ft!

Re: First pass on ET Streets I remember my first run on slicks, It is an awesome feeling, and that was just a 1.8 short time. I have to run low 1.6's now to get that same feeling <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> hopefully 1.5's will be coming soon.
